GUIDE LINES- Heavy Storm Water Handling Storm Water Team

Isolate SCARP drain line to avoid off specs water drainage as well as line rupture and take EP-I
in service.

2. Open 16”& 6” v/v at P-5201A/B/C discharge lines to attain maximum flow.

3. Take P-1219 in service near gate#5 to handle P-I open channel water.

4. Take P-5201 A/B/C in service as on requirement basis.

5. Maintain P-5201A/B/C discharge pressure @ 0.7 Kg/cm2 to attain maximum flow


through the Pump.

6. Take P-1207 A/B both pumps in service. to reduce level in sewer pits.

7. Ensure controlled opening of open channel gates near BAGGING UNIT to avoid open
chanel over flow near CCR. [However try to handle P-I open channel water through P-
1219 operation to avoid opening of open channel gate near E&I building]

8. Start Satellite Storm water pumps as per requirement.

9. Ensure the diversion of Cooling towers CBDs towards ADAM SOHABA CANAL
instead of open channel.

10. To avoid open channel overflow during rain , Clean/ Remove the screens from open
channel or any temporary blockages.

11. Take P-1304A/B in service installed at Bagging open channels.

RAINY SEASON PREPARATION :

a. EP –I/II levels should be minimum possible.


b. EP – I Transfer pump is available.
c. Open channels and inter connecting pits are cleaned on monthly basis.
d. Storm water pumps are available in good condition.
