 680:  Narrow  Vision  Forum)

In  your  Main  Post,  answer  these  prompts:

• Describe  what  innovation  you  want  to  see  in  your  school.
• Describe  the  positive  impacts  you  hope  this  innovation  will  have  on  the  students  in  your
school.  Why  would  a  teacher  want  to  use  this  innovation?
• Next,  create  a  vision  for  this  innovation.
• What  will  your  school  look  like  in  3-‐5  years  if  this  innovation  is  successfully  adopted?
• How  will  teaching  and  learning  be  different?
• (Hint:  After  reading  your  vision,  your  classmates  should  be  able  to  picture  how  things
would  be  different.)

As  a  reminder,  be  sure  to  tie  in  the  course  content,  prior  knowledge,  and  your  experiences
in  your  post.

• The  innovation  that  I  want  to  see  in  my  school  are  Smart  Boards  in  all  classrooms.
The  current  situation  at  my  school  is  that  no  room  is  universal  in  the  way
information  is  presented  to  students.  The  technology  varies  room  to  room,
meaning  teaching  and  learning  isn’t  equitable.

• Describe  the  positive  impacts  you  hope  this  innovation  will  have  on  the  students
in  your  school.
Why  would  a  teacher  want  to  use  this  innovation?:
-Smart  Boards  are  an  engaging  and  flexible  tool  that  allow  teachers  to  better  meet
the  needs  of  different  learning  styles  in  the  classroom  in  an  interactive  way.
Teachers  would  want  to  use  this  innovation  because  they’re  low  maintenance,
provide  tons  of  online  resources,  offer  better  visuals,  save  lessons,  offer  technology
integration  (computers, video cameras, digital cameras, microscopes, and more).

• Create  a  vision  for  this  innovation:
At  Pikesville  Middle  School,  our  vision  as  an  educational  community  is  to  focus  on
the  individual  learner  through  the  use  of  technology.  By  implementing  Smart
Boards,  teachers  are  able  to  promote  an  engaging  and  collaborative  learning
environment  that  fosters  creativity  for  a  lifelong  learner.
