UNION COLLEGE ONLINE GRADE AND SUBJECT VIEWING
People nowadays are living in an information dependent upon digital information. Digital
information is electronic information, the result of computer processing. Each type of job relies
upon getting information, using it, managing it, and relying information to others. Computer
enable the efficient processing and storage of information.
Grading system is an exercise in professional judgement on the part of the teachers. It
plays the key role in the management system of any school. But, such system do not often relate
expectations, outcomes, and performance. As each student desire to achieve a good score for
each assignment, exam, project, and/or report, the whole process adds a heavy work load for
teachers inorder to make their evaluation fair, comprehensive, and accurate. Online grading
system is a web-based application that can be used to create grades list of every student. It post
the grades of the students online.
The student have an account to access their reported grades. Parents can view and be
updated on the performance of their children. While teachers work load can be lessen through
computing the grades automatically. Union College of Laguna has approximately 1000 students
and 50 faculty members. They are liken to other universities and colleges who normally release
the students grade list in a delayed time because most of the instructors compute it using
Microsoft Excel or electronic spreadsheet and then manually compute the students grades list to
double check
The Online Grade and Subject Viewing with Event (OGSV) is an automated system for
registrar’s office to update student’s profile and also to update students.
This system was develop to minimize work of the registrar’s also to help the students or to
guided.
The OGSV offers a several benefits, such as; reliable and complete information; easily
and accessible and accurate; high quality information; reduces errors in the result; better quality;
easy to use and user friendly. The developed system also provides a back-up feature that creates
a copy of the original database.
Through conducting this study, we are hoping to help in the problem of school, parents, and
students.
PROBLEM DEFINITION
 Delay update of new subjects
 Slow response of registrar giving grades
 List of subjects without indicating name of professors
 During encoding of grades, some instructors encountering errors
 The long process of inquiry of grades are inconvenient, tiresome, and some
instances are time consuming and costly
 The manual process of computing grades in Union College of Laguna
 The inaccurate records of students
 The manual task that most of instructors are facing
 The miscomputation of students grade

AIMS
 To help the instructors of Union College to encode the grade through online
system
 To help the students to inquire the list of subjects they are going to enroll
 For parents and guardians of the students, it can help them monitor the grades of
their children
 To be updated in upcoming events
 To help the registrar office of Union College to lessen their tasks in preparing the
summary of grades and lists of subjects
 For the future researchers, it can help them as a guide to enhance more from their
future thesis
OBJECTIVES
 The System will lessen the works and task of the registrar in encoding grades
 The System can be able to send grades automatically
 The System will shorten the process of inquiry of grades
 The System can help instructors to encode grades easily
 The System update students in upcoming events via sms
 The System have a backup file when something accidentally erased
 The System can help students to be guided in choosing subjects
 The System will secure the information and tras
 The System provides a computerized student’s records, school event and subjects
open in present semester.
 The System target users of the develop system are the faculty, registrar office
personnel and system administrator.
 This System will help the teachers to minimize the time consumed in computing
grades of the students using manual method. It will help students to become aware
of their grades and also help the parents to get involved in their child's
performance.
 This System will display an accurate student’s record online
 This System will reduce the manual task for instructors in computing grades
 This System will automatically compute the student’s grades
