The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA believes and invokes Divine Guidance in the betterment of the quality of life through
national development and transformation, which are predicated upon the quality of education of its people. Towards this end, the institution
is committed to the ideals of teaching, community service, and research, as it nurtures the value of “Helpers of God”, with “Character Building
is Nation Building”, as its guiding principle.
Vision
The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA shall emerge as a premiere university in the Philippines. It shall provide a venue for the
pursuit of excellence in academics, technology and research through community partnership.
The University shall take the role of a catalyst for human development. It shall inculcate Christian values – Catholic in doctrine, as a way
of strengthening the moral fiber of the Filipino – a people who are “Helpers of God”, proud of their race and prepared for exemplary global
participation in the arts, sciences, humanities and business.
It foresees the Filipino people enjoying a quality of life in abundance, living in peace, and building a nation that the next generation will
nourish, cherish and value.
Mission
The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA is dedicated to the development of the Filipino as a LEADER. It aims to graduate
DYNAMIC STUDENTS who are physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually committed to the achievement of the highest quality of life.
As a system of service in health and in education, it is dedicated to the FORMATION OF CHRISTIAN SERVICE AND RESEARCH –
ORIENTED PROFESSIONALS, LEADERS AND CITIZENS WITH GREAT SOCIAL CONCERN and COMMITMENT TO THE DELIVERY
OF QUALITY EDUCATION AND HEALTH CARE.

Course Description:
This is a specialization course that leads to a Programming (Java) National Certificate Level III (NC III). It discusses six (6) basic
competencies, two (2) common competencies, and two (2) core competencies that a Grade 11 Technical-Vocational Education
(TVE) student ought to possess.
The basic competencies are for learners to: 1) lead workplace communication, 2) lead small teams, 3) develop and practice
negotiation skills, 4) solve problems related to work activities, 5) use mathematical concepts and techniques, and 6) use relevant
technologies. The common competencies are for learners to: 1) apply quality standards and 2) perform computer operations. The
core competencies are for learners to: 1) perform object-oriented analysis and design in Java technology, and 2) create and fine-
tune Java technology applications using object-oriented programming concept.

1. Develop a range of cognitive skills, including critical thinking skills; Develop an
understanding of the components, the architecture and the organization of a
computer system; Develop an understanding of the problem-solving process;
2. Equip students with the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions about the
selection of components of computer systems; Equip students with skills to create
algorithms to solve problems;
3. Develop skills to write correct programs to solve problems and an understanding of
the concepts of software engineering;
5. Provide students with an understanding of abstract data types and their usefulness
for manipulating data;
