Chapter 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE

INTRODUCTION

Rationale

In a general educational timetabling problem, a set of events (e.g.

courses and exams, etc) are assigned into a certain number of timeslots

(time periods) subject to a set of constraints, which often makes the

problem very difficult to solve in real-world circumstances.

This research will focus on how to build Semi-Automated class

schedule maker system for project presentation of the student in Asian

Learning Center that could also handle dynamic resource allocation

problem. Both the Student are facing challenges in scheduling these

presentations due to many constraint. To overcome those challenge and

constraint as that have been identified and state above, this research will

design and implement an Semi-Automated Class Schedule maker System for

the project presentation to minimize conflict of constraints while handling

dynamic resource allocation.

A scheduling system is usually a form of software that

allows someone to construct schedules in an easier, faster and error

minimized way.
It is very time consuming and sometimes leads to a disaster if output is not

efficient.

It is a fact that arranging class schedules, instructor’s load

and room utilization for the students and faculty in every department

is one of the many activities that each department heads must prepare

before classes start. But the school used the manual way of preparing

the class schedule.
