Universal Design for Learning (UDL): I have selected for my students to use Microsoft office 365 to create an
audio books about pets found in a home. They will eventually share books with fellow classmates and
classroom tech page shared with parents and other students in school. I will invite local VET or Pet store
employee to come give the class some background info on most domestic animals that can be found in the
community.

By creating a narrative power point: My students will be able to help the hearing impaired as well as the
auditory learners. They will get a hands-on activity for my tactile learners, and for my introverts they will be
able to create work that will showcase their abilities, for my extrovert there is a plat form for a bigger
audience. Each narrative power point is or will be a student’s own individual work incorporated with facts and
opinions both supported by personal research and hands on knowledge.
Lesson idea implementation: I will bring up during story time, when teacher normally reads a book,
questions like who knows the parts of a book ie. Cover, table of contents, beginning and end, body? I will then
ask who has pets or a friend or family member with a pet. Teacher will share teachers’ book for a model of
what teacher is expecting in return. Teacher will go over how to use Microsoft office 365 to record book on
power point slides. After making sure students have all equipment needed on day 1 students will create
outline for each page for two days home work will be to gather facts from family and online resources to
support care and where to find pet and on day 4 we will put all information together day 5 we will record
audio to books and then share them through pre decided technology.

Students will self-grade by seeing the products their peers create we will ask 3 questions did you put your
best effort in gathering information to share? did you utilize family, classroom guest(professional) and
internet to gather information ? did you pic quality pictures and use proper writing mechanics in producing
your book. Students will also be given blank evaluation forms with pre-determined numbers of other students
work to anonymously turn in. that way there will be points given to honest self-evaluations. These nonfiction
stories will be the outline and standard for other fiction or nonfiction projects asked from the students
throughout the year. Possibly have them do a nonfiction piece over a time period in history, they will draw
time period out of a hat to be fair.

Reflective Practice: I can use this method for a check on learning approx. once a quarter to give students
more time to create thorough and thought out books. I can cover a wide variety of topics; I think using
multiple media and creating a tangible product helps reassure them of what they know. It helps their peers
see and understand information in multiple ways, the research and family involvement make lesson a little
more meaningful and sharing the finish product promotes self-pride in work.
