Free verse poem

”LOST”

Cold sweats

Dead eyes

Yet you still don’t care

Sleepless nights

Hopeless fights

Yet I’m still waiting

Vicious kisses

Brutal tenderness

And I’m lost in your game

Ballad poem
“Arms reach”

Patiently, you tread deep waiting

But I was afraid to jump in

“Hang on,” I said, “Just keep fighting.”

As I watched you slowly sinkin’.

When cold winds blew, you held my hand

Where yours was firm, mine’s weak and frail

I was lost, gone from your dreamland

But I know, one day, our ship’ll sail

I was wrong, sweet lord, I was wrong

You weren’t swimming anymore

I thought you were there all along

But I guess you finally found your shore

Acrostic poem

“FADING AWAY”

Forever embed in your heart was his name

Anchored in your soul, you’re the one to blame

Doomed from the start, you knew when it began

Ineffable feeling, you’ve for this man

Nothing compares, the emotion he brings

Grovelling on your feet, everything stings

Along with the blurry lines of regret

Was all the mem’ries you wish to forget

Above all, the future you held at bay

Yet it’s all gone because you fade away

Rhyme Poem
“UNSTEADY”

I was at the edge of the bed sobbing

And I wished I never had to wonder
What life would be with you, It was falling
Tears, pain, and regret, everything’s somber

A part of me will always be waiting

While the rest of me knows I have to stop
Yet despite all the things that’s happening
All of me plummets like a raindrop

I was unsteady, every bits swarming

Where I was liquid, you were firm, solid
I thought you’d be the one to glue me in
But I’m a wreck that nobody wanted

Soon you’ll be nothing but a memory

And I’ll be sitting in my bed smiling
Because I stopped being sad and sorry
In the end it’s just me, finally happy
Ode Poem
“ODE TO MY HEART”

Beating heart

Steady, strong and stable

It’s the subtle way you speak

The way love flows through your being

It’s firm, it’s rhythmic, it’s perfect

Life enters your chambers

You share, you give, you pump

Because that’s what you do

That’s who you are

You give life, you give love

Sometimes you murmur

Sometimes you’re blocked

Sometimes you’re erratic

But even when you’re coding

With 300 joules you keep fighting

You never give up

Even when you’ve had enough

It’s sinus rhythm, and you’re back

So thank you, my beating heart

For coming back stronger and wiser
