Learn the basics of sports and entertainment marketing and learn how to
apply it to the real world.
Learning objective: Teach the students how to use social media, well known brands, and use
great language to market an entertainer, an athlete, or a major sports
organization to the public.
Learning activities: My students will sit down and watch a video from teacher tube of a young
man speaking about the importance of sports marketing. They will also
learn the benefits of good marketing and bad marketing and how it can
affect a person or an organization. While they watch the video, they will
fill out a graphic organizer.

First Activity: Watch Video with Class


The video the students will watch will help them get the basics of sports
and entertainment marketing. A young man will explain the importance of
it and how and can truly benefit a person or team if done well.

Second Activity: Fill out graphic organizer


My Students will fill out the graphic organizer during the video and I will
give them a short period of time after the video to finish up their
thoughts. The graphic organizer puts the students in a real life situation
and makes them make marketing decisions for a team with a struggling
fan base.

Third Activity: Group Collaboration


Once everyone has finished their graphic organizer, the students will get
in groups of four to discuss each of their ideas to help the struggling
teams marketing situation. They will take two of the best ideas then share
them with the class.
Evaluation: At the end of class, each student will turn in their graphic organizer to me.
They will be graded on the creativity of their ideas. They will also be
graded on how much they participated with their group.
