 Assess newborn’s condition including vital signs and physical


appearance
 Document assessments and refer any untoward signs and symtoms
to attending physician
 Carry out doctor’s orders including medications, intravenous fluids,
etc.
 Provides Routine newborn care to infants such as cord care which is
done aseptically and thermoregulation
 Monitors newborn’s vital signs and take notes of their activity and

 Assist doctors during intravenous insertion, umbilical catheterization,
intubation, chest tube insertion, etc.
 Aids in the prevention of infection and transfer of diseases among
infants
 Educate mothers on proper newborn care and emphasizes the
importance of breastfeeding.
