Pork consumption is increasing due to the demand of our growing population.

Income growth and

an expanding middle class are boosting demand in the Philippines where pork is the preferred meat. An
increased and a swift production are expected in order to meet the rapid growth of demand.
The integration of Industry 4.0 has enabled a new way of targeting and reducing inconsistency. In
manufacturing, early correction, increased efficiency and a reduced number of defects are benefits that are
already evident, particularly for industries that use sensors for precision placement of components.
Automation will improve hygiene and thereby food safety through less manual handling of products and
less cross-contamination between carcases, because the tools in the machines can be cleaned more
effectively after every carcase. Product quality and yield may also be improved; production recipes may
be changed instantly in accordance with information of market demands.

Scientists, engineers, and developers personally do believe industry 4.0 is always a journey and
different companies, regardless of whether big or small or what country they’re from, have
different starting points and that while income growth will increase demand for pork in most
markets, gains in domestic production will reduce demand from some buyers.
