SUICIDE

Brilliant actor Robin Williams, Marilyn Monroe a Hollywood icon, rock star Curt Cobain,
one of the best fashion designers in the world Alexander McQueen, Virginia Wolf a popular
Novelist, Sylvia Plath an admired Poet, Vincent Van Gogh one of the best painters in history
these are just a few of a long list of famous personalities who decided to take their own life.

Statistics say a person in every 40 seconds commits suicide and close to 800,000
people die due to suicide every year.

Being gay or homosexual with no support from family, substance abuse, a family
history of suicide, a feeling of hopelessness, having disciplinary, social or school problems could
be some of the causes.

Any person can commit suicide whether young or old, rich or poor, successful famous or
not. There is no particular race or status to it. It is a condition controlling your brain that slowly
eats your inner peace and sanity. The Bible is against it and says it to come from the devil.
Suicide is clearly no joke. People who happen to think about doing it are usually those who
suffer from depression. It could be because of a problem about a relationship especially
someone that you dearly love, because he/she died or has left you. The internet or Social
Media can also be a factor. When a basher bullies you or post shameful pictures of you, and
you just can’t handle the embarrassment from all who knows you. All the humiliation is where
depression may start that leads to suicidal tendency or substance abuse. Suicide gives you the
thought to free you from all the dark thoughts you have in your life that are making you
extremely sad. This tells us that what we do can have an effect to someone. We must be careful
with our words and actions and be sensitive of others’ feelings. Suicide has a way of reminding
us that what we are now and how we live our lives can impact someone else’s in a positive or a
damaging sad negative way. If someone has a problem in your friends or family you should
comfort or accompany her and talk about what is the problem that he/she is dealing with and
help her/him to not think about sadness, darkness and death.
