About
The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIMN)
was established in the year 2015 by the Ministry of
HRD, Government of India, with an aim to facilitate a
multi-faceted management knowledge generation and
IIM Nagpur dissemination through ethical and value-based learning

while catering to the needs of the emerging Indian
economy. The institute started its operations under the
mentorship and guidance of one of the most renowned
management institutes in India, IIM Ahmedabad.

Prof. L S Murty received the award for Best Teacher and Most Responsive Teacher Award at IIMB. Throughout his career,
he has held various academic administrative positions. He has consulted for many companies in various sectors. Prof.
Murty’s areas of interest include Operations Planning and Operations Strategy. He specialises in Operations Management,
Operations Planning, Operations Strategy, Quantitative Methods, Research Methodology, Management Information
Systems and Corporate Strategy. He has also designed and conducted several executive development programs for
various organizations like ABB, BHEL, BPL, Crompton Greaves, HLL, Infosys, ITI, National Association of Civil Supplies
Corporations, Orissa State Electricity Board, Saint Gobain, Siemens, Tata Motors, TCS, and Wipro.
Prof. Rahul Kumar Sett

Marketing
Prof. Sett received the Nehru Fulbright scholarship for Postdoctoral research in management in the year 2013. His
research interests include Judgment and Decision Making, Consumer Behaviour and Psychology. Prof. Sett is a Fellow
(PhD equivalent) of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (2010). He has been working in the fields of
Judgment and Decision Making, Consumer Behaviour and Psychology, Pricing, Strategic Marketing, and Poverty and
Micro-finance. Before joining IIM Nagpur, Prof. Sett was an assistant professor for Marketing at the Indian Institute of
Management Kozhikode (2010 to 2015), and with the International University of Japan, Graduate School of International
Management (2015-16). He was with Microsoft R&D India Pvt. Ltd. from 2004 to 2005 as an engineer.
Prof. Thiagu Ranganathan

Economics
Prof. Ranganathan works in the field of Economics. He got his PhD. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.
His research interest vests in the field of Agricultural Economics, Development Economics, Behavioural Economics,
and Impact Evaluation. While teaching interests include Managerial Economics, Behavioural Economics, Development
Economics, and Game Theory. Previously, he has worked with the Agricultural Economics Research Unit (AERU) at the
Institute of Economic Growth (IEG), New Delhi. He has been part of various research projects funded by the Ministry
of Agriculture (MoA), International Labour Organisation (ILO), Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research
(ACIAR), and Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). He has also obtained significant years of experience
in the corporate and development sector.
Prof. Deeparghya Mukherjee

Economics
Prof. Deeparghya Mukherjee is a faculty member for Economics at IIM Nagpur. He did his doctoral studies, Fellow
Program in Management [FPM (PhD)], from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore in the area of Economics and
Social Sciences with a minor in Finance. His teaching and research interests cover international trade and investment
agreements, services trade, economics of outsourcing & IT integration in India. Prof. Mukherjee was a Visiting Research
Fellow at the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore. He was also a Research Fellow at the
Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), New Delhi. Being a certified Financial Risk
Manager, FRM (GARP), he has also worked as a Business Analyst and Assistant Manager in the Advanced Analytics
departments with HSBC and Citibank for over three years before pursuing his doctoral studies.
Prof. Varsha Khandker

Marketing
Prof. Varsha Khandker is Assistant Professor of Marketing at IIMN. She holds a doctoral degree from Indian Institute of
Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) and has close to three years of teaching experience. Her teaching covers Marketing
Management, Marketing Research, Marketing Strategy and Rural Marketing. She is also a visiting faculty at the National
Institute of Agricultural Marketing, Jaipur. Her research interests include Technology Adoption, Food and Agri-business
Marketing, Rural Marketing. She is a certified instructor for the marketing simulations - MARKSTRAT and BRANDPRO.
Prof. Khandker has presented papers in international academic conferences and is a reviewer for several academic
conferences and journals.

Prof. MV Shivaani
Accounting and finance
Prof. MV Shivaani is a faculty of Accounting and Finance. Her teaching and research interests range from financial
accounting, management accounting, and corporate governance to corporate finance. Before joining IIM Nagpur, she
worked with Department of Financial Studies, Delhi University and GGSIP University. She is a first attempt - chartered
accountant and recipient of UGC-JRF and SRF. Prof. Shivaani has presented papers at conferences of national and
international repute. She was an expedition member in 35th Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica and delegate to
Russia as a part of an Indo-Russian cultural exchange program.
Prof. Neerpal Rathi

Organizational Behaviour
Dr. Neerpal Rathi is Assistant Professor of Organisational Behaviour at IIMN. He received his PhD. from IIT Roorkee, India,
and pursued post-doctoral work at Incheon National University, South Korea. His research interests include Emotions at
Workplace, Quality of Work Life, Personality, and Employee Health and Well-being. Professor’s teaching covers Micro &
Macro Organisational Behaviour, Conflict Management and Negotiation Skills. Dr. Rathi has worked with Xavier University
Bhubaneswar; Amrita University, Coimbatore; Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad; and Banasthali University. He
has published several papers in various national and international journals, such as Personnel Review, Vikalpa, South Asian
Journal of Management, Journal of Human Resources in Hospitality and Tourism and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. In
addition, he has presented several papers in various national and international conferences in India and abroad.
Prof. Saurabh Kumar

Decision Sciences & Information Systems
Saurabh Kumar is a faculty member of Decision Sciences & Information Systems at IIM Nagpur. He has submitted his
thesis towards FPM (Doctoral) degree in Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. His research interests involve Privacy
Issues in Social Network, Privacy Preserving Data Mining Techniques, Forecasting Techniques, while teaching interests
are Big Data Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data Mining, Social Network Analysis and Forecasting Techniques.
Earlier, he was a Visiting Research Scholar at Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University, Canada. Before joining
IIM-Lucknow, he worked with Tata Consultancy Services Bangalore. He holds an engineering degree in computer science.
Prof. Atul Arun Pathak

Strategy
Prof. Atul Pathak is a faculty in the Corporate Strategy area at IIM Nagpur. His research and teaching interests include
Dynamic Capabilities, Internationalization, Competitive & Corporate Strategy, Management Consulting and Innovation. Atul
has taught various Strategy and Management Consulting courses at leading Indian institutes such as XLRI Jamshedpur,
SIBM Pune. He has designed and delivered executive education programs and consultancy assignments for organizations
such as Tata Steel, Ultratech Cement, Canara Bank, NTPC Ltd., Balmer-Lawrie Ltd., Reliance Industries, Kirloskar, Amdocs,
etc. His research has been published as papers and cases in various international and national journals. He has received
best-paper awards when presenting his research at various national and international conferences.
Prof. Avina Mendonca

Organizational Behaviour
Avina Mendonca is a faculty at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur in Organizational Behaviour area. She is a
fellow from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). Her teaching interests are Individual and group processes
at work, understanding people and organizations, creativity at workplace, organizational leadership, qualitative research.
Before pursuing her doctoral studies, she worked as a lecturer in Organizational and Consumer Behaviour at Vivekananda
College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur, India. She is a recipient of UGC-JRF award. Avina’s current research focuses
on understanding employees’ experiences of undertaking a stigmatized occupation and mistreatment at the workplace.
Prof. Saroj Kumar Pani

Strategy
Dr. Saroj Kumar Pani is a faculty member in the Corporate Strategy area of IIM Nagpur. Dr. Pani is a Fellow of IIM Bangalore
in Corporate Strategy and Policy and an MBA in marketing. He has also completed the CPCL program from Harvard
Business School, Boston. Dr. Pani has a brief entrepreneurial experience as co-founder of a start-up. He has worked as a
faculty at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Italy, IIM Indore, and XLRI Jamshedpur. He has received Andrew Towl Endowment
Fund from Harvard University, Best Young Teacher Award from AIMS, Best Research Paper award at PAN-IIM World
Management conference to name a few. He has successfully conceptualised and conducted programs for organizations of
repute such as SBI Life, MRF, ONGC, Indian Army and Rajya Sabha Secretariat to name a few.

Apart from the permanent faculty, IIM Nagpur has one of the finest visiting faculties from distinguished institutes and
organizations across the country. Most of the visiting faculty have rich prior experience in eminent B-schools and are

About PGP
With the combination of case study approach, field immersion and interactive classroom sessions, the Post Graduate Program
(PGP) at IIM Nagpur offers a unique learning experience to its students. We have inherited the rich program convention
followed at the top B-Schools around the globe. Breaking the barriers of conventional teaching, introduction of virtual
classroom facility along with classroom teaching ensures seamless flow of information. This allows the Institute to source
the best knowledge available across the globe, be it the elite faculty from well-known B-Schools or the Industry Experts from
different sectors around the world. Each year, we are adding new perspectives to managerial skills, projecting the Institute’s
assurance towards developing leaders with a view attuned towards fostering excellence.

experience of 31 months, most of our students are well acquainted with corporate culture and policies, hence will prove to

IIM Nagpur is happy to announce the introduction of the ‘International Immersion Module’ as an elective
in term 5 of the curriculum. The objective of the module is to broaden the horizon of the students from
a national to a more global focus. As a part of this module field visits have been arranged for students
in countries like Japan, Singapore, South Korea and UAE. Students will be visiting key industrial touch
points with sessions from top corporate professionals planned. To enhance the learning, academic sessions
from world renowned Academia based out of these locations are also in the pipeline. The students will

the socio-cultural nuances of each country. At the end of the module the students are required to make a

RBI Policy Challenge 2018
IIM Nagpur team comprising Rishav Raj, Jason D’silva, Kushal Gangar
and Yash Thakur secured the 2nd runner-up prize in the national
round of RBI Policy Challenge 2018 under the mentorship of Prof.
Deeparghya Mukherjee. The team reached to the national round by
winning zonal and regional rounds in which several premier institutes
participated such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Indore, IIM Raipur and
TISS Mumbai. The team made its way to the final out of 216 initial
participants across reputed educational institutions of the country.
The team was given a topic titled ‘Normalisation in Advanced
Economies: Implications for India.’ & they presented monetary and
liquidity recommendations before a distinguished jury comprising
Sanjeev Sanyal, Principal Economic Advisor, Govt. of India; Pranjul
Bhandari, Chief India Economist, HSBC; and Amartya Lahiri, Director,
CAFRAL, Mumbai. The team received the prize from Mr. Viral Acharya,
Deputy Governor, RBI.

IIM Nagpur Students Karim Baig and Shikhar Bhardwaj secured the
Regional Runners-up position at the Tata Crucible – The Campus Quiz
– 2018 held at Nagpur. ‘Tata Crucible - The Business Quiz’ seeks to
bring together sharpest young corporate minds in India to take on the
heat of the toughest business quiz in India. Youth is a key audience
cluster which the Tata Group is focusing its communication at and
Tata Crucible is one of the key initiatives towards this engagement.

Ultimate Pitch 3.0
Team Planateers of IIM Nagpur comprising Sameer Bhajni, Sourabh
Patil and Prasanna Dharkar became the Zone 4 Winners of The
Ultimate Pitch 3.0 and was selected to contest in the National Level
Finals. The Ultimate Pitch is a strategic elevator pitch contest to
celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship and it included around 40
premier business schools across all the zones.

Transformation
Series - 2017
YES Bank Transformation Series is one of India’s largest case study
competition for B-School students across the world. It consisted
of four different case study series addressing issues in FINTECH
space. IIM Nagpur team comprising of Prasanna Dharkar, Sameer
Bhajni and Sourabh Patil were winners of Intelip case study and
was selected among Top 50 teams from 26850 participants across
the country.

House of the Moon
In an attempt to restore the French buildings of the yore, French
Embassy and Institut Francais consulted the students of IIM
Nagpur through the ‘Know Your Indo-French Heritage project’,
organized by Aishwariya Tipnis, founder of ATA Architecture. IIM
Nagpur students (Omshree Sawant, Sreeram Sakkhari, Viswanath
Sharabu, Gaurav Agarwal) visited Chandernagore, the town which
housed French colonial empire and remaining of the French
buildings. The IIM students, each led a group of students from the
Jadavpur University and the architecture school from Confluence,
Lyon. The groups brainstormed sustainable solutions for the
dilapidated Registry buildings and the IIM students converted the
ideas into a business model on four sustainable solutions of
lodging, restaurant, hospital and library which are presented
to the eminent guest from the Chandernagore Community.

Finance Club
FINesse, the Finance Club of IIM Nagpur, is a platform
which cultivates an interest in Finance among the
students. It aims to facilitate understanding of the
latest trends in Finance through guest sessions on Risk
Smart Organizations, GST etc. by distinguished industry

experts and the weekly newsletters. In order to bridge the
gap between the theoretical concepts and the practical Club
understanding, club organizes activities like virtual
stock-trading competitions, finance related case study MarX, the marketing club of IIM Nagpur, aims to provide a
competitions, workshops on latest software tools and platform for students to transform themselves into industry
techniques used in the industry. These activities ultimately ready marketers. Our endeavour is to assist students to

Club
Opex, the operations club at IIM Nagpur strives to facilitate
students in practically applying conceptual learnings
of Operations and Supply chain management. Since its
inception, the club has been at the forefront in organizing
real-world scenario-based simulation games to give
students a firsthand experience of Operations management.
Club also has been hosting nation-wide quizzes and guest
lectures by eminent speakers. In future, the club plans to
provide students with live projects, conduct nation-wide
case study competitions, upscale the nature of simulation
games to be played among the larger audience and share
knowledge on recent trends in operations management.

Club
Predixion aspires to facilitate dissemination of knowledge
and guidance to students about Business Analytics and
its applications in current industry scenario. The club
conducted multiple guest speaker sessions where students
got an opportunity to interact with industry experts on
topics like AI, ML and start-up opportunities in analytics.
The club organized SLGs (self-learning groups) which
acted as a platform for learning analytical concepts and
techniques that will help students make impact in their
professional career. Predixion has planned to conduct
simulation sessions and workshops to help students realign
and focus on data driven approach for decision making.
Media Cell
Media connect club of IIM Nagpur acts as the official
channel of communication and interaction between
the institute and the outside stakeholders. The club is
responsible for handling social media activities, brand
building exercises on various platforms. It contributes
significantly towards developing creative content for events
and captures the soul of the college through its lens. It also
publishes and maintains blog posts written solely by the
students of the institute on myriad topics.
E-Cell
The Entrepreneurship Cell of IIM Nagpur has been set
up to promote entrepreneurial culture in students and
budding entrepreneurs in India, particularly in the state
of Maharashtra. The mission is to assist young leaders by
providing necessary resources and taking the ideas forward
through various events like E-Talks, INCITE, Workshops,
Incubation program, etc. The club aims to nurture a
community of dedicated Students, Entrepreneurs and
Academicians by connecting them with Industry experts
and Angel Investors to better the future prospects and
viability of the business.
Toastmasters
“Toastmasters International (TMI) is one of the world
leaders in helping people develop their leadership and
communication skills. IIM Nagpur has embarked on this
positive and supportive leading journey of exchanging
ideas and empowering individuals to become more
effective communicators in line with TM’s mission. We
envision to leverage the platform created by TMI by
ensuring effective participation from the young leaders
at IIM Nagpur by making it an experience like no other.”
Community
Outreach Club
Ummeed is an initiative undertaken by the students of IIM Nagpur
which aims at spreading awareness about various social causes,
sensitizing the minds of future business leaders and developing
a sense of social responsibility among them. It envisions to
help and to empower the underprivileged and differently-abled
through its unique and compassionate approach to social issues.
To this end, the club organizes events such as Blood Donation
Drive, Donation Drive for slum dwellers, debate competition,
and plantation drive in the campus among others. Ummeed also
aspires to bring together business management concepts and
social causes for the effective and efficient functioning of social
organizations by inclusive community engagement through case
studies written in conjunction with these social enterprises.
The students also voluntarily visit the nearby orphanage each
weekend to impart knowledge the underprivileged students, for
whom being taught is a luxury they can’t afford.
Cultural Club
Abhyudaya, the cultural club of IIM Nagpur, is
a platform to grow together by embracing the
diversity in each of us separated by geographies and
philosophies. Since its inception, the club has been
actively working through team building activities,
games and festivals to enhance self-awareness and
at the same time, inspiring people to think outside
the box. The club organises various festivals round
the year which the students celebrate together at the
campus as a family.

Sports Club
Sports Club of IIM Nagpur aspires to bring out the
sportsperson in each management student of the
institute. Besides ensuring that students here lead a
balanced lifestyle, we also aim to instil the virtues of
team-work, leadership, and persistence among them.
Last year we co-ordinated with the organizing committee
of Nagpur Marathon and supported the cause of Tobacco-
free Nagpur by ensuring participation of our students in
the marathon. We also conducted the annual sporting
event of IIM Nagpur, “Rhapsody,” in which students
competed across seven different sports. Sports Club
also oversees the gymnasium facility in IIM Nagpur.
Movie Club (SIG)

The main aim of this SIG (Cineastes) is to learn through
Entertainment. Every cinema comes with different aspect of
our day-to-day life. Each film helps us to explore different
culture and in the process to know our own. You never close
a book without learning something; Cinema is the same in
different form. We as the Movie Interest Group recognized
this ability of the motion pictures and wants to provide a
platform for screening and discussions to grow and learn in
the process.
