 History
In 2000, Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc., through a subsidiary, partnered with Japan’s Ministop
Co. Ltd and Mitsubishi Corporation to open one of the leading convenience store chains in Asia
to service the Filipino market.

Ministop takes pride in its ready-to-eat offerings that suit the varied tastes and wants of
Filipinos, such as the best-selling Uncle John’s Fried Chicken. Being the first convenience store
in the country equipped with an in-store kitchen facility, Ministop’s food selections are served
hot and fresh every day.

 Location
Seventeen years into the industry, Ministop Philippines has grown into a strong network of
close to 500 stores in key areas of Metro Manila, South Luzon, and Visayas, with stores located
in Cebu, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Roxas and Boracay

 Background of the business


The brand symbol above is called logo mark (House Mark).

It symbolizes "your refreshment station on a street corner." It shows a house and a tree for its
motif, with an arc encircling the MINISTOP inscription.

The logo represents our desire to provide family-like warmth and comfort.

It also expresses that MINISTOP is an indispensable existence for the local community, and
provides a variety of products and services to create a future of limitless promise by
transforming daily life.

The meaning of the name MINISTOP

From the word "Minute Stop" that was created under the concept of "a shop on the street
corner" where you can stop by for a moment, it was transformed into "MINISTOP" which also
indicates a place to stop by for a little and move on, and which is easier to pronounce and
remember for the Japanese people

day. Affordable yet with an uncompromising focus on quality, the 24-hour convenience stores
are also equipped with an in-house kitchen facility to serve freshly-prepared meals every day
and served hot to the hungry customer. With favorites such as the Uncle John’s Fried Chicken,
Toppers, Kariman, MySundae and Chillz, the ready-to-eat category is distinctly developed for
the Filipino palate.
