THE PRAYER OF A TEACHER

LORD
You called me in the midst of the night
You called me to be Your servant
You’ve wanted me to guide Your children
You’ve wanted me to teach them right…
Who am I to fail You?
Who am I to say no?
I am one of those who’s very lucky
Because You believe in me…

LORD
Through Your grace and mercy
I’ll serve You with all my heart, mind and soul
Use me as Your instrument to guide Your children
Use me as Your instrument to mould them.
Create in me a good teacher’s heart
So that my students would be loved
Help me to show them their good sides and to change the bad
Because You said, “For such is the kingdom of God!”
Guide me, oh Lord, so that I could guide them to You
Guide me so that I could be their example, too!
Grant me the courage to face the problems and future consequences
Help me to be fair so that I could teach them what is just and what is not
Help me to persevere so that I could teach them the meaning of true service.

LORD
Please send me the Holy Spirit so that I could do all these things
So that my students and I, as a teacher
Will walk hand in hand to You
To praise You and glorify Thy name.
