Welcome to
BV organization for ASME services

Starting from 1st January 2014, One CIS Insurance Company -Bureau Veritas has
implemented its own ASME local technical center (LTC) for the ASME activities to be
performed globally.

There are 3 ASME LTC (LTC-1 Americas,LTC-2 BV Italy at Milan and LTC-3 BV India-
Mumbai ) and will replace OneTuvBV GmbH (joint venture with TUV Nord being
terminated).

Authorised Inspector’s responsibilities

► Verify that fabrication, welding, NDE and testing procedures are in place

► Verify that all procedures meet Code requirements

► Final internal and external inspection

► Witness hydrostatic test

► Review and endorse Manufacturers Data Reports

► Witness stamping of nameplate

The National Board

► Qualify Authorised Inspectors (AI_ to carry out inspections)

► Boilers and pressure vessels manufactured to the ASME Code may be


required to be registered with the National Board
► Maintain the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) for in-service
inspection (post construction)
► Authorise repair organisations to carry out repairs and use the National
Board Code stamp
► The National Board carries out reviews against the NBIC in these
instances

► 3 Controlled QC Manual to be sent to ASME team (ASME Designee, AIS & AI).
Request signature as per procedures.
► VIP treatment for ASME team.

► No Argument during Joint Review

► Come first and late out (All team standby when AI/AIS on site)

► Prompt issue of NCR and Corrective Action.

► Prompt revision of QC Manual (items 4 & 5 to be dealt on same day, with office
staff on stand by).
► Opening meeting must be attended by MD.

► Prepare tentative schedule for ASME Designee review and comments.

► Closing meeting 16.00 hour or second day.
