Fast Facts
In March 2018, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources approved Rencana
Umum Penyediaan Tenaga Listrik (RUPTL) 2018-2027, a ten-year electricity
supply business plan. According to RUPTL, electricity demand in the country
is projected to increase by 8.6% annually, going from 216.8TWh in 2016 to
457.0TWh in 2025.

RUPTL 2019-2028 confirms the efforts of PLN to meet the target of the new and
Renewable Energy mix (EBT) amounted to 23% by the year 2025 as contained
in the Regulations of the President of the Republic of Indonesia number 22
of the year 2017. PLN trying to optimize the utilization of clean energy that
comes from the EBT and gas while coal will take precedence to provide
development using Ultra Supercritical technologies (USC) that low carbon and
more environmentally friendly.

PLN-targeted until 2028 to realize RUPTL as total power generation development plan of 56,395 MW, electricity
transmission network throughout 57,293kms, and the parent of 124,341 MVA substation.
