J apan pronounced in Japanese as “Nippon” or “Nihon”,is

a Pacific Ocean island nation off the coast of mainland

Asia.It is comprised of approximately 6,900 islands.The most
prominent and populous island areHonshu,Hokkadio,Shikoku
and Kyushu,making up 97% of the country.Within these
islands,there are 47 prefectures with a total population of 127
million (11th in the world).

73% of the country is a mountainous,however,a majority

of people live on the coastlines,making it one of the most
densely populated countries in the world.
The culture of Japan has changed greatly over the millennia, from the
country's prehistoric Jōmon period, to its contemporary modern culture,
which absorbs influences from Asia, Europe, and North America.[1]

Strong 9,000 year old ancient Han Chinese cultural influences, including the
8,000 year old ancient Han Chinese writing script,[2] are still evident in
traditional Japanese culture as China had historically been a global
superpower, which has resulted in Japan absorbing many elements of
ancient Han Chinese culture first through what as then the Imperial
Chinese tributary vassal state of Korea, then later through direct cultural
exchanges during China's Sui and Tang dynasties.

The inhabitants of Japan experienced a long period of relative isolation

from the outside world during the Tokugawa shogunate after Japanese
missions to Imperial China, until the arrival of the "Black Ships" and the
Meiji period. Today, the culture of Japan stands as one of the leading and
most prominent cultures around the world, mainly due to the global reach of
its popular culture.

What is the main culture in Japan?
Religion & Beliefs: Shinto and Buddhism 84%, other 16% (including
Christian 0.7%) Shinto dates back to ancient times when people
believed that the natural world possessed Kami, a Shinto deity or
divine spirit. Buddhism came from China in the 6th Century and the
two religions have co-existed in Japan from that time.
Africa is varied and manifold, consisting of a mixture of countries with various tribes
that each have their own unique characteristic from the continent of Africa. It is a
product of the diverse populations that today inhabit the continent of Africa and the
African Diaspora. African culture is expressed in its arts and crafts, folklore and religion,
clothing, cuisine, music and languages.[1] Expressions of culture are abundant within
Africa, with large amounts of cultural diversity being found not only across different
countries but also within single countries. Even though African cultures are widely
diverse, they are also, when closely studied, seen to have many similarities. For
example, the morals they uphold, their love and respect for their culture as well as the
strong respect they hold for the gods they believe in and the important i.e. Kings and
Chiefs.

Africa has influenced and been influenced by other continents. This can be portrayed in
the willingness to adapt to the ever-changing modern world rather than staying rooted to
their static culture. The Westernized few, persuaded by European culture and
Christianity, first denied African traditional culture, but with the increase of African
nationalism, a cultural recovery occurred. The governments of most African nations
encourage national dance and music groups, museums, and to a lower degree, artists
and writers.
