Please answer the following questions on a separate sheet of paper. Answers should be typed and no more
than two (2) paragraphs in length each.
1-List all campus involvements, job positions, awards and/or honors since attending Adelphi University. Please
provide dates and any positions held in those activities.
2-Explain how being involved in one (1) of these organizations has helped you develop into a prominent leader
on campus.
3-What are the three (3) most important values you display while being a campus leader? Show these values
through experiences on campus.
4-As a leader, you sometimes have to deal with conflict or disagreements within an organization. Describe a
recent conflict or disagreement you personally had to contend with. Did you overcome it? How?
5-What would you like to change about Adelphi University’s approach to campus involvement for students?
How would you like to go about changing this?
6-What is your greatest achievement? Why?
Note: The following are basic requirements to be considered for the Adelphi University Chapter of Sigma
Lambda Honor Society:
-Must be actively involved on campus through campus activities, clubs and/or organizations.
-Must have at least a 2.7 cumulative G.P.A. on the Adelphi University scale (verified by C.S.I.)
-Must have completed at least 30 credits at time of induction, freshmen are ineligible to apply.
-Must be in good judicial standing (verified by C.S.I.)
Each applicant will be notified as to whether or not they will continue the application process and receive an
interview from the Sigma Lambda executive board. Applicants who will be selected for interviews will be
contacted by Sigma Lambda-taking place on April 12, 14 and 15. There is a onetime membership fee of eighty
dollars ($80.00) for all new members.
Applications are due April 9, 2010 by 4:30 pm to the Center for Student Involvement office in the University
Center Room 110. All applications MUST be time stamped.
