PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY


1. Candidates should, in addition to their Admit Card, bring
a) Two copies of their RECENT coloured Passport size photo (3 cm x 3.5 cm)
b) at least one photo identity proof in ORIGINAL with clear photograph (e.g. AADHAAR Card, Driving
License, Voter ID Card, PAN Card, etc)
c) Photocopy of identity proof mentioned at (b) above.
If a candidate fails to bring the above documents, he/she would not be admitted in the examination venue
and his/her candidature could be cancelled.
2. Candidate is advised to make sure about the location of Examination Centre in advance so that he/she
appears for the examination on the specified date at the Centre, at the reporting time mentioned in this
Admit Card.
3. No candidate will be allowed to enter the Examination Centre after the Gate Closing Time
mentioned in this e-Admit Card.
4. NO REQUEST FOR CHANGE IN EXAMINATION CENTRE WILL BE CONSIDERED UNDER ANY
CIRCUMSTANCES.
5. The candidate must bring this e-Admit Card at the Examination Centre. No candidate will be allowed entry
without this e-Admit Card.
6. This Admit Card is valid only if the candidate's photograph and signature images are legible. To ensure
this, please take a clearly legible, preferably colour print-out of this admit card on an A4 sized paper. Also,
candidate must affix one’s RECENT coloured Passport size Photograph in the space provided
above.
7. Candidates will be permitted to appear for the examination ONLY after their credentials are verified by centre officials.
8. Candidates shall have to undergo the process of FRISKING and ensure that their BIOMETRIC REGISTRATION is
completed before they enter the examination lab. Candidates shall not be allowed to leave the examination venue
once their Biometric registration is completed
9. Possession and use of electronic devices such as Mobile Phone, Micro Phone or any other Associated
Accessories, Calculator, Log Tables, Pager, Digital Diary Books etc are strictly prohibited in the Examination Hall.
If any candidate is found in possession of any of these devices/ documents his/her candidature is liable to be
cancelled. The candidates are therefore advised not to bring any of these articles at the exam venue. ONGC
shall not be responsible for the safe keeping of any articles in the possession of the candidate.
10. The candidates shall be solely responsible for the safe upkeep of any of the articles in their possession
which are not allowed inside the exam hall. The candidates in such cases are advised to make their own
arrangements for all such articles for their safe custody.
11. Candidates will be required to provide bio-metric identification such as finger print etc. The candidates should ensure
that they provide clear Left Thumb Impression (LTI) at the time of biometric registration. In case of PWD candidates,
Suitable Thumb/Feet Impression will be taken.
12. Candidates shall not be allowed to leave the examination venue once their Biometric registration is completed.
13. The candidates appearing in Computer Based Test (CBT) should, in their own interest, check their eligibility in all
respect so as to avoid disappointment at any later stage.
14. Candidates must strictly abide by the instructions given by the exam functionaries (Centre Supervisor / Invigilator,
etc).
15. All Exam Labs are under Video Surveillance and all activities of candidates are being closely monitored. Candidates
are therefore strictly cautioned not to indulge in any unfair means. Such activities would lead to cancellation of their
candidature for this exam and they may also be debarred from future exams conducted by ONGC.
16. Rough Sheet will be provided to candidates for rough work. A candidate must write his/her name and registration
number on the rough sheet before he/she starts using it. The rough sheet must be returned to the invigilator at the
end of the examination.
17. Candidates are advised to make sure that they sign in the space provided against their details in the
Attendance Sheet. Signing on the Attendance Sheet is mandatory and without signing the attendance sheet
their candidature will be NULL and VOID.
18. SC/ST/PWD candidates are eligible for reimbursement of 2nd class rail/bus fare by the shortest route, on production
of original railway/bus ticket and SC/ST caste/PWD disability certificate failing which No TA will be Paid.
19. Travel Allowance (TA) will be paid to SC/ST/PWD candidates as per the form generated along with this Admit Card
as per rules. Candidates who do not bring the TA form (which can be printed along with this admit card, shown below)
duly signed by oneself, shall not be paid TA. Departmental candidates will not be paid TA at Test Centre, the same
needs to be claimed through their Tour Programme created for the said purpose.
20. Candidates who have applied under PwD category will be allowed a compensatory time of 40 minutes.
21. For Candidates, who have opted for a scribe in their online application form, scribe shall be provided at the test
venue by ONGC in case so desired by the candidate. However in such cases other than those of blindness and
locomotor disability (both arm affected), the provision of scribe shall be allowed ONLY on production of a certificate
to the effect that the person concerned has physical limitation to write, and scribe is essential to write
examination on his/ her behalf, from the Chief Medical Officer/ Civil Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a
Government health care institution as per proforma available on ONGC’s website.
22. In the event of any technical issue faced during the exam, Candidates are requested to be seated inside the lab for
further instructions by the examination conducting authority.
23. Any candidate walking out of the lab before the completion of the exam time, without the permission of examination
functionaries will not be permitted to renter the examination lab under any circumstances and his/her candidature may
be cancelled.
24. The entrance Examination shall consist of multiple choice objective questions of 120 minutes duration.
25. The Total Questions & Marks for the Exam are:

26. Candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with the Computer Based Examination with the help of ‘Practice
Test’ available on ONGC Website
27. Candidate should keep a copy of this Admit Card with him/her as this Admit Card has to be submitted to the
Invigilator at the time of examination and the admit card will be retained by the centre.
28. Candidate is required to make one’s own arrangements for necessary stay/travel/food etc.
29. ONGC reserves the right to cancel the selection process/ appointment if considered necessary at any stage of the
process/ appointment.
30. Canvassing directly or indirectly will disqualify the candidature.

CBT Instructions:
1. The duration of the Computer Based Test (CBT) is 120 minutes.
2. Only one question will be displayed on the computer screen at a time. The candidates should Click on
to go to the next question or on button provided at the
bottom of the screen to go to the previous question.
3. The candidate should click on the correct choice, from the 4 options given. In case, the candidate does
not wish to attempt the question, it can be left blank.
4. The timer is available on the TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER of the screen; you are requested to keep a tab
on it to ensure that you plan your exam within the allocated time.
5. The candidate can choose to unmark his/her answer by clicking the button provided at the
bottom of the screen.
6. The questions can be answered in any order within the given time frame.
7. The list of attempted and un-attempted questions is shown in the right side of the screen. You can click
on any of the attempted ones to revise the answers in case you wish so.
8. Candidates have the option to bookmark a question in case they want to review it at a later stage by
clicking on the button available at the bottom of the screen. The Bookmark on a particular
question can be removed by clicking on

PS: Questions which are attempted and marked for review would be treated as attempted questions only
as long as the candidate does not the option selected.
10. Candidates should use the OR button or click on the
question number displayed at the right side of the screen to move back and forth between questions.
11. The answers will be saved whenever the candidate goes to the next question, by clicking on
OR button. However, the last question will be saved
automatically after answering.
12. If a candidate finishes the paper within the stipulated time, he/she can end the test by clicking the
button. However, candidates will not be allowed to leave the test hall till the end of
the stipulated time.
13. On the completion of the test duration, even if the candidate does not click on an answer or does not
click on the button, the result will be saved automatically by the computer.
14. Any candidate found in possession of any unauthorized material or indulging in copying or
impersonation or adopting unfair means shall entail police action including cancellation of candidature.
15. In the event of the Examination being disrupted due to technical issues, the candidate should
immediately inform the invigilator. The invigilator will help the candidate to re-login to the Examination.
This will start the Examination from where it had stopped.
16. Candidate must not bring any pen/pencil/eraser. Pen and rough sheet will be provided at the
examination venue
