Abstract
ABSTRACT
Title: Alternative Formula in Finding the Excess
Area of
1
Regular Polygons Inscribed on 1 a Circle [Inscribed on → Inscribed in]

Key Terms: Alternative Formula, Excess Area,

The study determines the effectiveness of the alternative
formula in finding the excess area of regular polygons
inscribed in a circle. An alternative formula 2 is derived 3

by using well-known formula 4. Quasi-experimental pre- Repetitive word: formula

Sto. Niño National High School is the subjects of the study
as the control and experimental group, respectively. The
control group was exposed to the traditional way of
teaching using the original method while the experimental
group was exposed 6 to alternative formula.
Researchers used validated and reliable researcher’s
modified questionnaire with fifteen (15) items problem-
6
solving test questions used in comparing the effectiveness Passive voice
of the original method and alternative formula. Both groups
were given pre-test to determine the baseline data. Post-test
is given after the completion of classes to determine the
level of learners’ achievement in understanding the idea of
the study.
After using the mean to determine the achievements of the
students, the two sample T-test is employed to determine if
there is a significant difference between the mean scores of
the pre-test and post-test. The result revealed that the mean
scores of the experimental group, those who used the
alternative formula, is higher than the control group, those
who used the original formula 7. Due to the significant
difference in the post-test mean scores, it means that the
alternative formula 8 is more effective 9 than the original 10
method in finding the excess area of regular polygons
inscribed in circles.
