This document is a student paper arguing that technology does not make people less intelligent by replacing human intelligence with artificial intelligence. The student notes that technology allows work to be completed more quickly and conveniently, using themselves as an example of how they rely on technology to finish schoolwork while working full time. The student also argues that searching for information online requires reading, filtering, and selecting relevant information, which is a form of learning. They conclude that using technology to support learning does not flatten human intelligence.

Is technology flattening our own intelligence into artificial intelligence?
I personally don't think Google makes us stupid. It is obvious to realize that all the work today depends mostly on technology. However, technology helps us to complete work quickly and conveniently. One of the most relevant examples I can think of is myself. I am working full time and working at night as well. There are only twenty-four hours a day. Without technology, there is no way I can finish my schoolwork. Is it not the same reason for all of us taking online classes now? I agree that, sometimes, we rely on searching information on google a lot. However, when we search on google, we must read through every single piece of information it provides carefully. Then, we must filter out and look for the relevant information. Does it not sound like another way of learning? Also, behind the screens, there are a lot of people working on reading the textbook and doing a lot research before they post that information online and share them with everyone else. For this reason, I don't think using technology to support our learning is flattening our own intelligence into artificial intelligence.
