PREFACE :
This survey on “Arrival of ICC World Cup 19”
has been written in accordance with the latest sports
person who have well knowing about the Cricket.
Sports include all forms of competitive physical
activity or games which through causal or organised
participation, aim to use, maintain or improve
physical ability and skills while providing enjoyment
to participants and in some cases, entertainment for
spectators.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has
unveiled the results of what they claim is the largest
ever market research project into the sport. The key
finding of the survey is that the game has won over
one billion fans globally. Interestingly ,the
International body with 95% of fans showing interest
in them.
Suggestions and Comments for the
improvement of the sports are most welcome.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY :
England and Wales will play host to
2019 World Cup after winning the rights over a
decade ago. The hosting rights to 2011,2015 and
2019 World Cup were awarded simultaneously
in 2006. Initially England and Wales put in a joint
bid for the 2015 World Cup. However, after
Australia has beaten out by a joint Asian bid for
the 2011 tournament, they were offered the
hosting rights in 2015.
The Cricket Tournament was
originally going to be an invitational but after all
twelve full and provisional members accepted
the invitation the ICC granted its official status.
One of the senior English Lecture Ms. Meera
Anbazhagan of the college has been given the
task of making a survey about the upcoming
World Cup 19.

OBJECTIVE :
The survey was conducted to know the views
and mentalities of common 100 sports people about
the upcoming World Cup 19.

CONTENTS :
INTRODUCTION :
The ICC World Cup is the International
championship of One Day International (ODI)
cricket. The event is organized by the sport’s
governing body ,the International Cricket Council
(ICC) ,every four years, with preliminary qualification
rounds leading up to a finals tournament. The
tournament is one of world’s most viewed sporting
events and is considered the “flagship event of the
International cricket calender “by the ICC.

The above pie chart shows that about 94% of

sports person have very interested in cricket
.Therefore more sports people like to play cricket .
2. Are you eagerly waiting for the ICC cricket
World Cup 19?
o Yes

The above pie chart indicates that many sports

person are eagerly waiting for the upcoming World
Cup 19. Some of them are not interested for the
upcoming World Cup 19 .
3.Out of that 10 teams, which team do you
support?
From the survey, 8 out of 10 sports person
suggested that they would support for team
INDIA. Because the recent form of India was
extraordinary and in the ICC rankings ,India is
the second place in ODI. Some of them supports
some other teams like Australia, England, South
Africa ,West Indies.
4.Which team seems to develop at a higher
pace nowadays ?
o Afghanistan
o Bangladesh
o Sri Lanka

people selected Afghanistan team which seems to
develop at a higher pace nowadays.

5.What do you think about the return of
Warner and Smith in team Australia?
o Their return would definitely increase the
power of Australia.
o Can’t estimate their form as they play after a
long gap.
o Their return doesn’t return.
o Slightly matters as they can regain their form
in IPL.

loving fans suggested that the return of Warner
and Smith would definitely increase the power of
Australia. Because they are the backbone of their
team .
6.Your views whether Pollard, Narine and
Bravo brothers could get placed into WI squad
in World Cup 19?

From the above pie chart ,most of the people

said that they may have chance to be placed into WI
squad in World Cup 19. Though in T20 ,their forms
are better eventhough they are aged and so their
availability in World Cup is still in a question.
7.What is the major reason for lagging of Sri
Lanka in ICC rankings?
o Young players can’t replace those powerful
native players like Sangakkara ,Jayawardene,
Malinga ,Muralidharan, and Herath.
o Sri Lankan players have their potential, but
they don’t exhibit it properly.
o The young players of Sri Lanka need more
experience.
o Sri Lankan team need more training.

sports person says that young players in Sri
Lanka can’t replace those powerful native
players like Sangakkara, Jayawardene, Malinga
,Muralidharan, and Herath .
21% of them says that they need more
experience in playing as they are still young and
they would get experienced and play well one
day.
16% of them says that they need more
training.
15% of them says that Sri Lankan players
have their potential but they don’t execute it
properly.
8.Would Rayudu, Dinesh Karthik and Rahane
get chances to get into World Cup 19?

loving fans suggested that depending on the stable
performance in IPL, they would get chances in World
Cup 19. Because their forms while playing against
other countries were very poor.
9.As World Cup 19 takes place at England and
Wales ,do you think that it is favourable for
England to play in their home town?

their home town. It is due to the England players
are familiar with the weather and pitch in their
home town grounds.

most of the cricket loving fans like Hardik Pandya
(India) to be the best emerging All-Rounder in this
World Cup 19. Because his form in IPL is amazing
after return from injury.

centuries in his debut ,do you expect that he could
cross 45+ ODI centuries within this World Cup 19?

cricket loving fans suggested that Virat Kohli, The
Run Machine, could cross 45+ODI centuries within
this World Cup 19. Because his recent form in ODI
was extraordinary and marvellous. He has the top 3
MRF rankings and he still maintains.
12.Who would fit for No. 4 Batsman in Indian
Cricket team?

From the above pie chart, most of the sports

people suggested that M S Dhoni would fit for
No. 4 Batsman in Indian Cricket team. Because
he is stable cricketer and he could able to bat
till the end.
 13.What are the defects that should be
clarified by India to win World Cup 19?
Part-1
o Openers should have intense training.
o Middle -order should be strengthened
more.
o Captaincy should be well organized.

From the above pie chart, most of the

cricket loving fans suggested that middle -order
should be strengthened more. Because in the recent
matches, the middle order batsman lost their
wickets initially.
PART -2
o Bowlers need proper training in batting since no
players stand stable after 6 wickets are down.
o Bowlers need more practice in bowling.
o Little bit training is required for All-Rounders to
exhibit their potential.

cricket loving fans suggested that bowlers need
proper training in batting since no players stand
stable after 6 wickets are down. Around 31% of
people suggested that littlebit training is required for
All-Rounders to exhibit their potential .
Methodology :
With the help of Google forms ,we formed the
questionnaire and the link was sent to various
Whatsapp group and received around 100
responses. Questions were chosen with care in such
a way that it didn’t discriminate any of the
participants .The online method has a success rate of
90% and managed to get nearly 100 responses.
Though we individually administered the
questionnaires ,the collected data was analysed by
our group together and the conclusions were drawn
effectively .
Conclusion :
Sport is a physical activity still enjoyed as a
natural expression athleticism and energy, in many
different forms and settings ,by millions of people
around the globe .Cricket may not be India’s official
National game however it is no less than that.

 Selectors be required to take account of a
player’s characters as well as their skills as
a cricketer when making a selection.

Rounders to exhibit their potential
