Document Development Exposition: White Paper

ENGL 2116

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
For the paper I started with something completely different then what the paper ended up being. I
was going to do coal ash spills and the more I was looking into the more I realized that it would be
easier for me and my career to do stormwater pollution. I googled stormwater pollution in North
Carolina and looked up facts that I could use.

First Draft (for peer editing)

For the first draft two classmates added comments to what I should add to my paper and how I can
add images. It allowed me to make my paper flow a little bit more then what it did before the peer
review.

Second Draft (for your packet)

I added an image to my white paper packet and added a few sentences to make my paper reach the
goal limit of 1,500.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

For my final draft I tried to make my images on the front cover reach the edges of the page. I also
took the roman numerals off the table of contents, so it didn’t look so busy. In the body of the white
paper I decreased spacing between the headings and the subheadings. And changed verbiage of
some sentences and fixed the punctation that was wrong along with adding a source to educational
image in my paper and referring it into my paper. I also fixed a couple of my quotes that were
messed up in my paper, as well.
