THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ROLE OF HUSBAND AND THE

SELECTION OF INJECTABLE BIRTH CONTROL AT MARTINI

Family Planning is one of the most basic and primary Preventive health
services for women. The improvement and expansion of family planning services
is one of the efforts to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality that is so high due
to pregnancy experienced by women, one method of choice of contraceptives is
the monthly injectable method. The roles and responsibilities of husbands in
Reproductive Health, especially Family Planning are very influential, including
as family members and supporting couples using contraceptives.
The design used in this study is an analytical survey with a cross sectional
approach by collecting samples using primary and secondary data. The data
processing used collecting, checking, coding, entering, processing techniques with
data analysis by using chi square test which was presented in Univariate and
Bivariate tables.
Based on the results of the chi square test between the role of the husband
with the selection of injectable birth control in which 38 of the active mothers
used injectable birth control, 24 of them got support from their husbands and 14
of them did notget support from their husbands with p = 0.023 (p <0.05) then the
results meaningful, meaning that Ha was accepted by Ho, there was a significant
relationship between the role of the husband and the selection of injectable birth
control.
The conclusion of this study shows that there is a relationship between the
role of the husband and the selection of injectable birth control at Martini
Am.Keb Maternity Clinic in 2018. It is expected to the health workers or midwives
at Martini Am.Keb Mataernity Clinic Lhoksukon of North Aceh in order to be able
to often carry out counseling about family planning programs and invite mothers
to participate in the program.
