X-Rays are produced when a beam of high

velocity (ie high kinetic energy) electrons collides with the atoms of a
target
material. The photon energy of the X-radiation thereby produced
depends on
two factors:
1 Kinetic energy of the electron at the point of collision.
2 Relative efficiency of the process of stopping the incident electron
