A practice activity for understanding

synonyms and antonyms.


Cut and laminate all pieces

1. Antonym/Synonym Sort
Place antonym and synonym pies in the bottom of
two pie pans. Put all the cherry pairs in a pile. Each
student selects a cherry pair and determines if the
word pair are synonyms or antonyms. The pair is
then put in the correct pie pan.

2. Antonym/Synonym Match
Put the single cherries in a pile. Each student must
find two cherries that go together because they are
a synonym or antonym. Place in the correct pie
pan.

3. Simple Antonym/Synonym Match


Play as above only using either synonym cherries
or antonym cherries.
