Dear Students:

Congratulations to our Academic Bowl and Swimathon participants. Everyone’s hard work paid off with some great
performances.

If you did not have your picture taken for the yearbook, you may do so any day this week except Wednesday. In your
spare time, go to Room 1118 next to the AMR.

The activity period has been postponed to Monday, December 6. We will have regular classes on Tuesday, November 16
from 1:20 – 2:30 and students should come to school in regular uniform.

Season 2 sporting competitions are now taking place. Check the bulletin or ask your classmates for times so you can come
and support our Middle School teams.

In the coming weeks, your teachers will be asking you to complete a survey in each class. The surveys will be anonymous,
and we are asking all students to complete the survey in order to:
1. get your thoughts on the ways that you are learning
2. learn what you think the teachers can do to help you better understand
There will be space on the survey for you to write comments. If you have an idea of how a teacher can help you learn
better, please write a sentence or two. Please remember that your comment should be respectful and help your teacher
plan better for your learning.

Ms. Fredericks and Ms. Sayson

ISTA DRAMA FESTIVAL: UPDATE: We still require 2 placements for the ISTA Drama housing..see below for details.
ISM is excited to be hosting this year’s ISTA Middle School Theatre Festival! The International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) facili-
tates two MS festivals each year in Asia, which provide an amazing opportunity for international students from around the world to en-
gage in new theatrical experiences and to develop skills that will deepen their passion for performance. As a school, ISM has been a
proud supporter and participator of ISTA, and we now have the opportunity to give the participants an experience they will never for-
get! We will be hosting the first ever Musical Theatre ISTA festival, and we are very excited about welcoming other international stu-
dents to the Philippines and to our wonderful school.

The ISM ISTA Festival will take place November 19-21 (Friday to Sunday), and will involve as many as 100 students from other countries,
as well as our own ISM participants. As with any event, the whole ISM community has the opportunity to get involved in this Middle
School event. The most significant way for the ISM community to get involved is to provide housing for the visiting students. If you are
able to host some students, you may contact the ATAC Office and/or the Fine Arts Office at badiangoj@ismanila.org and/or
talense@ismanila.org . Most guests will arrive on November 18th and will depart on either November 21st or 22nd. If you would like to
help out with organization or facilitation during the ISTA Festival, you may also contact Vicki Close in the Fine Arts Office
(closev@ismanila.org) for more details on how you can help.

More information about ISTA can be found at http://www.ista.co.uk/

We look forward to this fantastic event, and this excellent opportunity for ISM to “show Manila proud”!
