Loyola has a strong research culture. It aims at promoting multidisciplinary research and education in
Arts and Humanities, Sciences and Commerce.

 About 455 Ph.D. research scholars carry out research under 81 research supervisors.

 Loyola is the only Arts and Science College which figured out in Current Science magazine for research
contributions to national development.

 Loyola Research Park has been established to promote the research culture among UG and PG students.

 Loyola is the only Arts and Science College in India to be recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research
Organisation (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India.

 The Central Board of Direct Taxes, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India has
recognized the quality scientific research done in Loyola College by the approval accorded to it on
01.04.2011 of tax exemption under clause (ii) sub section 1 of section 35 of the Income Tax Act 1961. This
approval enables 175% weighted deduction from the Gross Total Income to the donors of Loyola College
Society for the purpose of scientific research.
