San Antonio river walk

Summary
The San Antonio River is a major waterway that originates in central Texas in a
cluster of springs in midtown San Antonio.
Name- The Yanaguana stream was renamed “San Antonio”.

Stretch-
Upstream to the headwaters at the UNIVERSITY OF INCARNATE WORD and
downstream to ESPADA MISSION.

Project area-
The San Antonio River Improvements Project includes two reaches. The Museum
(Northern) Reach begins at Lexington Street and runs north about four miles to E.
Hildebrand Avenue at Brackenridge Park

Origin and destination-


The San Antonio River Improvements Project includes two reaches. The Museum
(Northern) Reach begins at Lexington Street and runs north about four miles to E.
Hildebrand Avenue at Brackenridge Park. Although the actual river headwaters are
north of Hildebrand Avenue on the University of the Incarnate Word campus, the
University is private property and the acknowledgement of the river origin will occur
on the Brackenridge Park land.
