Parenteral monitoring (parental communication) plays an important role in
increasing the knowledge of adolescents in general and in particular genitalia personal hygiene. In addition to the family environment, peer behavior also influences genitalia personal hygiene. Genitalia personal hygiene is a treatment that includes genital hygiene which is done to prevent infection. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between parenteral monitoring and peer behavior with personal hygiene of male adolescents in SMP N 5 Lintau Buo Tanah Datar district in 2018. This research was an analytic survey using cross section design, the population in this study were all male students of class VII-VIII totaling 80 people, while the samples were taken in proportional sampling. This study was conduct at SMP Negeri 5 Lintau Buo, Tanah Datar District, from June 29 to July 2, 2018. The results of this study showed that most 42 (52%) of the parenteral monitoring respondents were good and 44 (55%) of their peers' behavior was good, most of them were 57 (71%) good hygienic findings. There was a relationship between parenteral monitoring and personal hygiene of male adolescents with p = 0,000 and OR = 9.500 and there was a relationship between peer behavior and personal hygiene of male adolescents with p = 0.002 and OR = 5.667. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between parenteral monitoring and peer behavior with the personal hygiene of male adolescents. The author suggests that respondents can maintain and maintain personal hygiene, especially genitalia.
