CLASS DESCRIPTION
This class is focused on developing strengths as a student leader as well as the skills
necessary for good leadership. Students will actively participate in opportunities to
understand and practice essential skills such as character, powerful communication,
problem solving, goal achievement, conflict resolution, win-win negotiating, and
empowering stewardship. The goal of this class is for students to understand their
qualities as a leader, gain knowledge of leader responsibilities, and develop as potential
future leader
OBJECTIVE
Show a deepened commitment to developing oneself into a confident and capable leader.
Identify one’s talents, how to develop them as strengths, and link them to the work of a leader.
Investigate a strengths-based approach to leadership.
Use various skills related to leadership.
Experience the challenge of working on a team and practice the skills of good team leadership
and membership.
