NARRATIVE REPORT IN CAREER GUIDANCE

I – INTRODUCTION
Career Guidance is a comprehensive, developmental program designed to assist
individuals in making and implementing informed educational and occupational choices. A career
guidance and counseling program develops an individual's competencies in self-knowledge,
educational and occupational exploration, and career planning. This program help individuals
acquire the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to identify options, explore alternatives
and succeed in society. These programs better prepare individuals for the changing workplace of
the 21st century by:
 teaching labor market changes and complexity of the workplace
 broadening knowledge, skills, and abilities
 improving decision making skills
 increasing self-esteem and motivation
 building interpersonal effectiveness
 maximizing career opportunities

II – FACILITATING FACTORS
Being the Designated Guidance Counselor, I have been tasked to facilitate to conduct
the Career Guidance Program. This aims to guide the Grade 10 students to whatever track they
are fitted to enroll.
Activities were made available for the students in line with the said program.
On the other hand, the students were registered respectively on their preferred school and
track.

The students were subjected into an activity called DREAM COLLAGE

III – HINDERING FACTORS


Facilitating the activity was not easy, a lot of factors were considered to make it
more successful.
 Some of the students were absent during the time of conduct
 Some students are not participative enough
A parade during Career Guidance Week

Wearing the uniform of what they want to be in the future
