2019 Sixth Grade Band Carnival
Dear Sixth Grade Band Parent,

We are pleased and excited to offer an incredible opportunity for your children as they begin their
band career. The Kennesaw Mountain High School Band invites all 6th grade band students from Pine
Mountain Middle School and McClure Middle School to participate in a special “Band Carnival” on
Saturday, August 24, 2019.

The day will be filled with musical instruction, concerts, food, and fun! Musicians from the Atlanta
area will provide top-notch instruction for your child’s specific instrument, giving them a wonderful
head start on the basics of hand positions, embouchure, posture, instrument assembly, and tone
production. The students will have the opportunity to listen to performances given by their
instructors and they will also enjoy listening to the award-winning Kennesaw Mountain High School
Marching Band! Plans for the day also include an outside carnival during lunch, with games such as a
gigantic slide, obstacle course and moonwalk! We will conclude the 6th Grade Band Carnival with a
Showcase Concert performed by your sixth grade students. The concert will begin at 2:00pm and all
parents are invited. You won’t want to miss this great event!

The cost for the day is $25.00 per student, which includes a t-shirt, instructors, and activities.
Students are responsible for bringing their own nutritional sacked lunch. Please return the
registration form and payment no later than Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

Registration forms need to be returned to your middle school band director. If you would like to
attend this event, but are in need of financial assistance, please contact your school band director.
