Talent can be described as the sum of a person’s abilities, skills, knowledge,
experience, intelligence and the capacity to learn and grow. In the competitive
and complex corporate world a person’s talent is what makes him/her makes
stand out of the crowd.

What is talent management?

The concept of talent management is not only restricted to recruiting but also
to exploration, development, transition according to the culture of the
organization. It can also be termed as a continuous process that involves
sourcing, hiring, developing, retaining and promoting them while meeting the
organization’s requirements at the same time.

What makes talent management even harder?

 Getting caught up in faddish trends.

 Failing to think about how the whole talent management system works
together.
 Focusing on inputs and process efficiencies, rather than outcomes.
 Adding new process without taking others away.
