JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  Liaising with Client (CPY), Third Party Authority (TPA), Construction/Fabrication team, CTR Welding
Engineer etc. to ensure that inspection activities are done in accordance with project’s Quality
requirements at the scheduled time
 Coordinating and supervising a team of QC welding inspectors, junior welding inspectors, QA/QC
inspectors, QC officers, and QA/QC trainees to ensure that all QC related activities are done in
accordance with the project quality plan and at the scheduled time.
 Liaising with CPY, TPA and Construction/Fabrication team to ensure that adequate notification is given
and Request For Inspection (RFI) is issued for Hold Point inspection activities
 Prepare and review QA/QC documents such as Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Quality Control Plan (QCP),
Procedures, Inspection Checklist, Work Instruction, Scope of Work, QC reports etc
 Supervising welding procedure qualification test and follow up with all required documentation
process
 Supervising welder’s qualification test and follow up with all required documentation process
 Coordinating and supervising Pig gauging, Bolt Torqueing, Water flushing, Hydrostatic/Pressure/Leak
test, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Integration Test (SIT), and Pre-Sail Away inspection activities
 Follow up with the issuance and closure of Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Requests
(CARs), Deviation Requests (DERs), Site Queries (SQRs) Technical Queries (TQs), Punchlist reports, Root
Cause Analysis.
 Prepare and update project weld repair rate and welder’s repair log.
 Follow up on NDT inspection, NDT reports and repair log
 Prepare Hydrotest release, Painting & Coating release, Inspection Release Note and Mechanical
completion checklist
 Check and ensure that welding consumables are those specified, that their certificates are valid, that
they are stored according to manufacturer specification
 Check edge preparation and ensure proper weld fit up and orientation/placement of fittings in
accordance with AFC Drawings, WPS, Codes and Specifications.
 Ensuring proper pre-heating prior to welding and that interpass temperature as specified in the WPS is
maintained
 Ensure that production welding is done by qualified welders/welding operators
 Ensure compliance to the specified WPS by welders/welding operators during welding
 Monitor welder performance; check and record welding parameters and verify compliance with
approved WPS
 Monitoring calibration dates of welding machines, electrode ovens, electrode quivers, clamp meter
and digital thermometer.
 Perform visual inspection on complete welded joints
 Ensure that weld details such as weld number, welder’s ID for each pass and weld date are marked
adjacent to the weld
 Prepare daily weld reports, fit-up reports, visual inspection reports and Nondestructive Testing
Requests.
 Supervising and coordinating QA/QC works in relation to fabrication activities and resolving any
complains raise by client regarding job quality requirements
 Monitoring welding operations and ensuring compliance with project’s specification/code
requirements.
 Ensuring that the welding consumable storage/handling/marking/traceability is in accordance with
approved procedures.
 QC follow up of Mechanical test activities
 Report directly to the QC Manager on all quality matters as it affects the various ongoing projects
 Attend weekly Management and Supervisors meeting to review progress and re-prioritize activities
base on project demand
 Prepare weekly QAQC progress report and four weeks look ahead to ensure availability of equipment
and personnel
