TBM 1 Turn on Procedures

Step 1 : Insulation Resistance Test on T1

1. Measure insulation resistance of T1 primary winding (11 kV) to earth at 5 kV DC, record the
insulation resistance value at 15 sec, 1 min and 10 min
2. Measure insulation resistance of T1 secondary winding (0.4 kV) to earth at 1 kV DC for 1 min

Step 2 : Insulation Resistance Test on T2

1. Measure insulation resistance of T2 primary winding (11 kV) to earth at 5 kV DC, record the
insulation resistance value at 15 sec, 1 min and 10 min
2. Measure insulation resistance of T2 secondary winding (0.69 kV) to earth at 1 kV DC for 1
min

Step 3 : Insulation Resistance Test on 11 kV Cable and Equipment

1. Measure insulation resistance of 11 kV cable from RMU 1G2 to T1 at 5 kV for 1 min

2. Measure insulation resistance of 11 kV cable from RMU 1G3 to T2 at 5 kV for 1 min
3. Measure insulation resistance of 11 kV RMU busbar together with PT at 5 kV for 1 min

Step 4 : Insulation Resistance Test on LV Cable and Equipment

1. Measure insulation resistance of outgoing cable from T2 secondary winding to 690 V MSB at
1 kV for 1 min
2. Measure insulation resistance of outgoing cable from T1 secondary winding to 400 V MSB at
1 kV for 1 min
3. Measure insulation resistance of outgoing cable from Generator to 400 V MSB at 1 kV for 1
min
4. Measure insulation resistance of 400 V MSB busbar at 1 kV for 1 min

Step 5 : Tripping Logic Functional Test

1. Perform tripping logic test as shown in tripping logic table for RMU, T1, T2 and ATS system

Step 6: Final Inspection

1. Connection of primary and secondary cable of transformer and cover the transformer cable
junction boxes
2. Connection of 400 V MSB incoming cable from T1.
3. Connection of cable at 11 kV RMU.
4. Conduct a final inspection of 11 kV RMU, T1, T2, 400 V MSB and 690 V MSB.
Energization and post-Energization Sequence

1. Close the isolator at 1G1 to energize the RMU bus bar and PT supply

2. Close the isolator and circuit breaker at 1G2 to energize T1 following by voltage
measurement, phasing rotation test and earth loop impedance measurement

3. Close the isolator and circuit breaker at 1G3 to energize T2 following by voltage
measurement, phasing rotation test and earth loop impedance measurement

4. Preform one alarm and trip test for T1, ensure the generator start up and ATS switches over
to generator source after T1 tripped

5. Close the isolator and circuit breaker at 1G2 to energize T1, ensure the ATS switches back to
normal source after T1 is energized

6. Preform one alarm and trip test for T2

7. Close the isolator and circuit breaker at 1G3 to energize T2
