Come into our hearts as we prepare to meet thee.
Come, O tiny child,
Let our voices sing a song of joy to greet thee.
There are good people on both sides of the “when to start the Christmas season” de-
bate. Your neighbor may string Christmas lights the day after Halloween, while you
feel it a moral imperative to wait until after Thanksgiving or for the first real snow
fall. For me the Christmas season begins the day the Alma Choirs sing O Come
All Ye Faithful for the first time. For some 20 years we have opened our Festival of
Carols, and the Christmas season at Alma College, with this great carol and its
exuberant descant.
Whenever and however you celebrate, we are glad you have joined us today and we
are hopeful your Christmas season is filled with hope and joy and carols!
