My Secret Demise

- Deeksha Anand ( Writer )

Hello sunshine, here you come to burn me again,

In all your glory, I’ve bathed all these years, protecting you and sinning for you.

You held me captive for so long

& Now I’ve seen your rays strike hard the Innocents who loved your lies

The lies that you nourished them and grew them in

Fighting for you, I lost myself,

All I remember are the chilling tremors and bloodshed of the victims,

The same victims I swore to protect have all perished

But you urged to move forward in the battlefield,

So, I thank you for the lies & my secret demise.

I grew in you so much love for myself and my fate,

A Fate that had not been written, said or heard,

Just believed and breathed. I killed for your poetic justice

I wronged for your rays to grow stronger and colder,

I was your beautiful, rewarding Veteran Toy

The trauma haunts me in every moment,

What was once lived could never be forgotten

For I am the treacherous murderer you made me

Your loyal weapon for your sickening glory,

And for all that again, I thank you for all your lies and my secret demise.
