CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Nowadays many people are using computer for their personal or office work, it is very
important that we know how to used computer because we are in the 21st century the age of
Technology where everything is controlled by computer most of the work today are done by
computer like hotel, groceries,bank, factory and other establishment. Also we need to learn
how to use the computer to be competitive in this challenging world.
Learning how to use a computer is very important to us especially to the grade 12 Senior
High School students. Being a grade 12 students is not easy because there are lots of paperwork
that are needed to pass on time, but what if the student is benighted in using computer what
will happen? How they can compete in this challenging world?, If they are benighted to their
academic performance? What are the alternative solution so that they can improve their skills
in manipulating computer?
This study will be conduct because of the curiosity of the researcher. To be able to know if
there still grade 12 students of El Nido National High School that are still benighted in operating
computer nowdays and their number. In relation to this study we want to know also the effect
of being benighted in manipulating computer in their academic performance through analytical
analysis.

Objective of Study
The general objective of this study is to determine how being benighted in operating
computer affect the grade of grade 12 ENHS students.

3. Determine the significance effect of having less knowledge in operating computer in their
academic performance.
Hypotheses
1. All of the Senior High School Students of ENHS know how to operate computer.
Conceptual Framework
The input in these study we're a socio-demographic characteristic of senior high school
student in ENHS in terms of age, gender, allowance, and time. The process used in this research
are questionnaire and survey. The researchers used this in gathering data and information that
are needed in the research paper. The output is the effect of being benighted in operating

Teacher: Who have a student that are non- literate in using computer. It can help them to know
what are the reason why students is benighted and also through this study teacher can get an
alternative solution to aid their students.
Students: Through this study they know an alternative solution to improve their skills in
manipulating computer because this study will going to give an alternative solution.
Future Researcher: Who are going to conduct again this kind of research. This study is going to
serve as basis of their research.
This research is conducted in El Nido Senior High School which is the graduating students.
It cover only the 120 selected students from different section. To know which section has
students who doesn't know to manipulate computer and it will takes 2 weeks to gather all
needed data.
Definition of Terms
21st Century- Is the current century of the Anno Domini era or common Era, in accordance with
the Gregorian calendar.
Academic Performance- Is the extent to which a student, teacher or institution has achieved
their short or long term educational goals.
Non-literate- The state of not having knowledge about the particular subject.
Socio demographic- Are nothing more than characteristics such as age, gender, ethnicity,
education level, income type of client, year of experience, location, and etc.
