Message Recall

Sent mail can be re-called back from recipient mail box if the same be in unread mode.

Note:- This functionality will work if the mail is in the server copy of mail file, also it will would after defined
period after sending the mail.

Auto-zipping of Attachments

Attachments would be automatically zipped during sending any mail message. However
user will have option send as unzipped

Note:- Suggested option is to zip attachments to have minimum utilization of mail file.

Automatically close original email when replying/forwarding

 You can set a preference to close the original email message after you forward or
reply to it
 To set this preference, click File > Preferences, click Mail, and then select
Automatically close original email when replying/forwarding on the Basics tab.

Recent contact

Lotus Notes 8.5.x have a facility, which would lookup very recently used addresses,
with out contacting mail server. This would facilitate you with notes address lookup in
off-line mode as well

Inotes password Lockout after bad attempts & auto unlock

Inotes / web mail password would be locked after three bad attempts and will be remain
unlocked for next 60 minutes. So if user have their inotes password locked, then they
have to wait for 60 minutes to try next login. Refer captured snap

Auto Spell Check

Lotus 8.5.x can do auto spell check during memo.

Note:- This facility has to be activated from preference option by individual user.

Separate view of recently archived

 Lotus Notes has facility by which recently archived mails can be viewed separately .
 Archived mail can be viewed as date wise category
 Easily find your recently archived messages by opening the Recently Archived folder
in an archive

Highlighting mails with color in sent view

It’s a new facility in Lotus Notes by which colors can be set for senders in sent view

Provision for customization of sender name in inbox view

User can customized the appearance of sender name in inbox view. i.e. First Name, last
Name or Last Name, First Name and many more

Save email messages as .eml files

you can save emails as .eml files. With an email message open, click File > Save As and
select the .eml file extension

Keep message selected when switching to different folder or view

 You can go to a different folder in mail (or a different view in an application), but keep
the current message selected.
 To do this, go to a folder/view and select a message. Hold down the Ctrl key, and
click the folder/view you would like to open. The new folder/view will open, and the
message that was selected will still be selected.

Esc Functionality disabled in new Lotus Notes version 8.5.2

‘Esc’ functionality is disabled on “New Memo” window & prompting a message –

 Cause:- This is not an error. Esc button functionality is not available in Bharti customized
mail template.
 Solution:- Dialogue in the pop-up has been customized, which states the process to close
the window. User need to click on Exit button to close the window, refer captured snap.

Error on Opening Document or New Memo in Archive Database
You may experience some popup during opening a document or new memo from archive.
Error :

Reason: When you archive a document from inbox of upgraded server, the new design
elements will get populated in your archive file. Some time it may not be able populate all
design element due to background task, which result these errors.
Solution: 1. You need to perform refresh design with server so which will pull non-populated
design elements from server.
