Snaptools Guide July 2nd - Weiss

Introduction
It’s a guide for installing Snap Tools. What more do you want?

Make sure to read the whole thing before starting. If you don’t, support reserve the right to call
you a Neanderthal.

This guide assumes you have Magisk installed. If you don’t, go do that. We won’t offer support
for rooting or Magisk-related problems.

Supported Versions
While SnapTools is functional on multiple versions of Snapchat, there are chances of bans, and
some broken functions on version other than:

• 10.20.5.0
• 10.26.5.0
• 10.41.6.0
Do not install 10.41.6.0 unless you’re using Pie, as only Justin’s EdXposed stops bans.

Differences in Snapchat Versions

Stealth indicators don’t fully indicate.

10.20.5.0
See below diagram.

10.26.5.0 Everything works (besides filters)

10.41.6.0 Everything works (some saving issues)

When stealth is on, there is no outline in the little ghost.

Can’t see it? Squint ffs.

Differences in Android Versions
Anything below Android Pie (9.0) must use the Xposed Framework Magisk module. The module
automatically identifies your android version and installs the correct version of Xposed for you.
Android Pie (9.0) must use Riru Core Magisk module and Justin’s EdXposed fork.

We know that EdXposed supports Android Oreo, but SnapTools does not support Android Oreo
with EdXposed.

Download Locations
The two modules mentioned can be found in the Magisk Downloads repo.
The installer app for EdXposed be found here.
The Systemless Xposed Installer app can be found here.

Justin’s EdXposed fork can be found here.

It’s inconsistent but, more often than not, EdXposed passes SafetyNet. Justin’s fork of EdXposed
seems to pass Snapchat’s checks during login and launch.

Preparation
1) Hide Magisk in its Settings page.
2) Block all components under Google Play Services" and "Google Play Store" in Magisk.
There are a few things that aren't blocked by default that might trigger SafetyNet.
3) Download and install the following:
I. XPrivacyLua
4) If using a Snapchat version lower than 10.41.6.0, download and install the following:
I. Preferences Manager
II. Snapchat version 10.39.6.0
5) (Optional) Install Justin’s Snapchat Blocker Module to block ads. It will not block bans.
Installation (For Versions Lower Than 10.41.6.0)
1) Log in to Snapchat version 10.39.6.0.
2) Open Preferences Manager, select Snapchat, then back up
“com.snapchat.android_preferences.xml”.
3) Install the version of Snapchat you chose earlier on in Supported Versions. Give it
Storage, Microphone, and Camera permissions in Android Settings -> Apps -> Snapchat,
then launch it.
4) Restore your backup in Preferences Manager.
5) Install Snaptools.
6) Open SnapTools and select the option to repackage it when it pops up.
7) Open XPrivacyLua and select “Determine activity” and “Get applications” under
Snapchat’s dropdown menu.

Installation (For Versions Equal to or Higher Than 10.41.6.0)

1) Install the version of Snapchat you wish to mod and login.
2) Install Snaptools.
3) Open SnapTools and select the option to repackage it when it pops up.
4) Open XPrivacyLua and select “Determine activity” and “Get applications” under
Snapchat’s dropdown menu.

Packages
SnapTools works as a modular system. Each version of Snapchat requires its own package to be
modded correctly.
Packages can be installed in SnapTools’ Package Downloader tab.
You can update the SnapTools app regardless of any package updates.
For the love of all that is holy, do not use the SnopTells apk. We’ll just laugh at you if you do.
Troubleshooting
“When sharing images, they’ve been rotated!”
Check/Uncheck the Rotation Fix setting in your Sharing setting page.

“Sharing isn’t working!”

Use a different app (gallery/storage manager) to share through.
Rename the file, removing any punctuation. This includes dashes and underscores.

“When sharing images, they’ve been zoomed in!”

Enable/Disable your flash and try switching cameras.

“I can’t add friends!”

Disable the Master Switch in SnapTools, add your friends, then reenable.

If you’re on Pie, disable EdXposed in your Magisk menu instead.

“SnapTools isn’t saving properly!”

Clear Snapchat’s cache in SnapTools settings, and delete SnapTools’ temp folder.

“My filters aren’t working!”

Snapchat changed stuff around in how filters are done server-side.
There’s no fix planned until further notice.

If your problem isn’t here, follow these steps:

1) Update Magisk.
2) Make sure you’re using Systemless Xposed or Justin’s EdXposed.
3) Clear Snapchat’s cache in SnapTools’ Settings page.
4) Uninstall and reinstall SnapTools.
5) Remove and add your packs back.
