the Philippines locally and internationally. Major
works: Ugma-ugma. Pagsamba, Udlot-udlot,
kubing, Agungan, Ugnayan, Aroding, Ading, Siasid
and Suling-suling
Many of his songs etched a mark in the hearts of
the Filipinos due to his style of incorporating
Kundiman elements in his ballad love song. His
song serve as the theme songs and musical scores
for numerous Filipino movies that led to his fame.
Major works: Bato sa Buhangin, Bulong ng Puso,
Kalesa, Gano kita kamahal, Diligin mo ng Hamog
ang uhaw na Lupa and Nahan, kahit na Magtiis.

adding lyrics to most of his musical compositios
used in the film,

chamber music and cantatas. Sa ugoy ng Duyan, Lulay;
choral composition include Eastern Cantata, Sa mahal
Kong bayan, Orchestral works: The devils Bridge,
Malakas at Maganda Overure, Hope and Ambition,

Fairies and lahing Kayumanggi. Conductor of three
bands namely Peng Kong Grand Mason Band, the San
Pedro Band of Angono and Banda Angono Numero
Uno.

Philippine music in his time by using folk
instruments like the kulintand and gabbang.

which used traditional music. Involved orchestral
music like Ang Batingaw Choral Symphony,
Kundiman-kundungan, The Living World;
Chamber music like Hating gabi, String Quartet,
Kung sa iyong Gunita; keyboard music like
Malikmata, We were moolight, dancing fool.
Vocal music like Amihan, Awit in Maria Clara and
Larawan Nitong Pilipinas.
Molina came from a family of a musician who
influenced him to play different instruments.
His father founded the Orquestra Molina with 22
musicians, and study in there.
The band was disbanded in Spanish Period.
Molina studied Law at Univeristy of Sto Tomas
and Manila Law School but later on stopped
because of his father’s illness. He established the
Rondalla Ideal and Continued with his muscial
career until in flourished. He became know as the
last musical triumvirate along with two other
musicians Nicanor Abelardo and Francisco
Santiago, who set the bar for folk music.
His works show the rich culture and
ethnicity of Asia especially the Philippines.
This world renowed artist created musical
worksby transforming our indigenous music
to a level equal to the music of the western
countries. In his choral pieces, he used
musical lines from ethnic songs resulting to
the enthusiastic harmony of sound and
culture. His opera and orchestral works, on
the other hand, has unique musical
language carrying contemporary style that
uses modal scales. His major works include
Silay sa kabila ng Paalam, La loba negra,
Pokpok Alimako, Pamagun, Yerma and the
Ashen Wings.
Started playing violin at 11 y.o. Had an accident
resulting to broken srist which stop him from
playing violin, but his career on music still he
continue to pursue. Become lyricist and wrote a

becmae known for writing songs for Filipino

Lucio San Pedro and Ernani Cuenco

Orapronobis, Maynila: Sa kuko ng Liwanag, Bina and
Makiusap Ka sa Diyos, among others.
His works were reflections of the existing
realities of the Philippine society and the
struggle of the Filipino people. This significant
element in Bernal’s works was their symbolic
details.
Among his works are: Himala, Nunal sa Tubig,
Pahiram ng Isang Umaga and Broken
Marriage.
Became the assistant director for sarswela film entitled Giliw
ko the LVN pictures. A director, and directed box office hits
film like Ibong Adarna. Established the MC (Manuel Conde)

He directed and starred in two movies focusing on world
history and literature figures: Genghis Khan, Sigfredo, and
became popular internationally that established the presence
of the country’s cinema all over the world.
He served as a piano player since high school for silent
movies, This became his fist training ground in the field of
cinema. He was a medical practitioner by profession but
because of his burning passion for cinema, he chose to
pursue a career in directing film. Among his classic
productions are: Noli me Tangere, El Filibusterusmo,
Daigdig ng mga Api, and Sisa.
A decade after the production of his fist movie, Eddie Romero
Became a produces and established the Eddie Romero
production. The produce movies like Buhay Alamang, won the
best screenplay in Filipino movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) and
Anfg Asawa kong Amerikano written by another playwright,
Luciano B. Carlos, won the best screenplay award in the
Southeast Asia Film Festival. He continued to direct, write and co-
produce films.
