I just wanted my wife back!

15 turns
Mr. Blane was the richest man in town, and a friend to everyone. That is, until his
wife died tragically 3 years ago. Since that time he has become a virtual hermit. The
small town gossip mill has been alive with the late night visitors, strange noises, and
mysterious deliveries. He has been working tirelessly on something, and he has had help!
What has he been up to...
Quite simply, Mr Blane has been trying to bring his wife back to life with the help
of one of the heroes. He studied the occult magics, cast the spell, but it has gone horribly
wrong! He not only awakened his wife, but all the other dead folk in Woodinvale. And
Mrs. Blane seems REALLY angry. She immediately destroys the alter and kills Mr.
Blane. But rather than eating his brains, he also becomes a zombie!
Mr. Blane’s helper knows how to reverse the spell (‘more or less’), but needs Mr.
Blane’s Spellbook and the Enchanted Skull. And the ritual must be completed by
Midnight!
Our hero/helper runs for help...

Scenario Objectives:
The heroes must re-enter the mansion and search for the Skull and Spellbook (see
“Mr. Blane’s Artifacts” in Game Setup). Once inside the mansion, instead of moving,
the hero may search. Select one of the chits. If it is the Skull or Spellbook, it is kept and
treated as an item. Heroes may not search for hero cards in the mansion, only chits.
If a hero with an artifact is killed, the artifact stays in the square and any hero may
pick it up during movement (they need not stop moving, nor search). Zombies may not
carry/move the artifacts.
Once the artifacts have been found, they must be taken to the helper’s alter
location (See “Mr. Blane’s Helper” in Game Setup). There the helper has their own alter
and equipment, necessary to reverse the spell.
Since the alter is obviously hidden ‘in the back’, the alter must be in a square that
does not contain a door (Exception: If Becky is the helper, the square may contain a
Morgue door).
To reverse the spell, a hero must possess both artifacts and spend his/her entire
turn in the helper’s alter location (any square in the building that does not contain a door),
and survive any zombie fights. If the hero is the helper, a roll of 4+, will reverse the
spell and the heroes win!
If the helper is dead/not there, any hero may attempt to reverse the spell, but must
roll 6+.
If the roll fails, the hero may try again next turn, adding +1 to the die. The hero
may keep trying each turn (adding +1 for EACH turn) until they are successful, dead, or
run out of game turns. If the hero is killed, another hero may pick up the artifacts and
attempt to reverse the spell, but this hero starts again needing 6+ (or 4+ if the helper).
Game Setup:
The game board is set up normally, but with the mansion in the middle.
Place these figures/chits in this order:
Mrs. Blane – She is a zombie hero in all respects. Select a female zombie and place a
‘zombie hero’ marker under her. She has 3 wounds and starts in either square of the
mansion dining room (zombie player’s choice). Any hero killed by Mrs. Blane
becomes a zombie hero.
Mr. Blane - He is a normal zombie and must set up in the same square with his darling
wife.
Mr. Blane’s Artifacts – Mix together the chits numbered 1-6 and place them face down
in the mansion.
Number 1 represents the Spellbook, number 2 is the Skull. The others are blanks.
Mr. Blane’s Helper:
Select the heroes normally, then determine who is Mr. Blane’s helper. The helper is the
first of these heroes whose alter location is in play:
Hero Alter Location
The Drifter Junkyard
Becky Hospital
Father Church
Jenny Barn
Billy High School
Sally High School
Johnny Plant
Sheriff Police Station
The alter location cannot be the target of the “They’ve taken the ...” card. Re-roll if
necessary.
Place the helper on the mansion board wherever the hero player wants (not necessarily in
the mansion).
The helper is considered ‘Strange’, and starts with the “I don’t trust ‘em” card. It may be
removed normally.
Other Heroes:
Place the other heroes in their start locations. If their start location is not in play, they
start in a random building.
ALL heroes get a free hero card draw along with any hero cards they normally start with.
Initial zombie placement:
Both Mr. and Mrs. Blane count towards the number of zombies on the board. For initial
zombies, roll 2D6-2 and place them normally.

Good Luck!
