You will need:
! 100% Cotton fabric cut into squares.
! Grated beeswax
! An iron
! Pinking shears
! Cardboard and calico to cover the ironing
board (or table)
! 2 sheets grease proof paper
! Wire rack or peg and string (for drying)
The step by step process:
1. Cut the edges of the fabric with the pinking shears.
2. Lay down the calico and cardboard and turn on the iron to heat it up.
3. Place a sheet of greaseproof paper onto the cardboard then lay the cotton square
on top of this.
4. Evenly sprinkle your beeswax over the cotton square, ensuring you go to the
edges.
5. Place another sheet of greaseproof paper on top of the wax and cotton square
and then slowly iron over it.
6. Peel back the paper to check that the wax is evenly melted. You may need to
sprinkle more on for even coverage and then replace the paper and then iron
again.
7. Peel the wax infused cotton square off the greaseproof paper and let it cool and
set on a wire rack or peg it onto a line of string to dry.
