It is to inform you that, Management and Science University (MSU) has taken an initiative to boost up
your PhD research.

Submission
(1) Please follow up the Gant Chart with your Supervisor to complete your study on time.
(2) Kindly follow the prescribed Flowchart for a smooth continuation of your research.
(3) Please ensure that you have done an accepted level of research work (write up) to send it to your
supervisor.
(4) Kindly submit your work at pgthesis@msu.edu.my
(5) All e-mail to pgthesis@msu.edu.my should be copied to Prof. Dr. Ali Khatibi at alik@msu.edu.my
(6) Please take note, documents and/or approval for Proposal Defense or Work Completion Seminar
should be done before 15 days than the event date. Otherwise, the document(s) will not be entertained
for the current schedule.
(7) The feedback of your work is estimated as follows:

Keep in Mind
We advise you that all PhD students have to achieve their personal goal, so please meet your Supervisor
and Co-supervisor regularly.

Plagiarism
Plagiarism, that is, the willful representation of another person’s work, without the acknowledgement or
the deliberate and unacknowledged incorporation in a student’s work of material derived from the work
(published or otherwise) of another, is UNACCEPTABLE and will incur the penalty of outright failure.

Planning Your Work

You are advised to begin working on your dissertation immediately. The lectures in Research Methods
held during the first term of your course are useful in helping you to plan background material and to
choose your methodology.
You should see your supervisor on a regular basis – at least once a month in the beginning. It is also
advisable to start writing as soon as possible. Do not worry if you feel that your material is not good
enough, almost all early material is weak at the beginning. Starting to write at an early stage will enable
your supervisor to see what direction you are taking, where your weaknesses are and give you
constructive advice and you will gain confidence from this feedback.
Don’t Cry
Be prepared for the unexpected such as hard disk failure, loss or corruption of diskettes and printer
failure. Use back-up disks and always keep (updated) hard copies of your work in case of an emergency!
