Catholic All Souls Day Prayer at The Cemetery
Catholic All Souls Day Prayer at The Cemetery
Catholic All Souls Day Prayer at The Cemetery
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus
Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the
Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended
into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence
He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the
Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy
will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us
not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
(Procession to the cemetery)
We sinners,
We beseech You, hear us.
That You would release our deceased parents, relations and benefactors from the
bonds of their sins and the punishment for them,
That You would hasten the day of visiting Your faithful detained in the receptacles
of sorrow, and would transport them to the city of eternal peace,
That You would shorten the time of expiation for their sins and graciously admit
them into the holy sanctuary, into which no unclean thing can enter,
That through the prayers and alms of Your Church, and especially by the
inestimable Sacrifice of Your Holy Altar, You would receive them into the
tabernacle of rest and crown their longing hopes with everlasting fruition,
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy
will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us
not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Let Us Pray.
O gentle Heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed
with burning love for the poor captive souls in Purgatory, have mercy on them. Be
not severe in Your judgments, but let Your Precious Blood fall upon the flames.
And, Merciful Savior, send Your angels to conduct them to a place of refreshment,
light and peace. Amen.
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Requiem
(Translation)
Eternal rest give to them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
A hymn, O God, becometh Thee in Zion,
and a vow shall be paid to Thee in Jerusalem;
O Lord, hear my prayer, all flesh shall come to Thee.
Eternal rest give to them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
