Industrial Visit Report

On 3rd September 18’, We students of MBA 2nd year 2018-19. went for industrial visit to

SCP&S Industry, Aundhroad, Pune, Maharashtra.

Administrative management, MBA managed an industrial visit tour to a batch 6 students of

MBA to SCP&S Industry. Its located adjoining Spicer High School. In the industry Premises,

we met Mr. Walson, The SCP&S Manager. A person with great experience. He shared many

information regarding the industry and how things work in the industry. They have range of

products which are

1.Soya Product: Milk/Vita

vanilla/chocolate soya milk

2.Grape Juice/Jam

3.Peanut Butter

At first we met the production manager. He explained us, they produce 500 packets of Soya

milk every day. And each of them have the average shelf life of a day and under refrigeration

it can be kept for 3 days. There are three outlets so far Dorabjee mall at MG Road, Spicer

Confectionery, Spicer Canteen. Soya vita has a shelf life of 6 months, which is produced

every alternate day. To produce peanut butter, they have a mixing machine which can roasts

150 kg of peanut. Only 130 kg of peanut can be obtained from the 150 kg of peanut because

the peanut contains moisture and the redskin of the peanut which becomes as the waste

product and the peanut is carried to the further manufacturing process.

Few questions were being asked in the visit being asked to the manager of SCP&S Mr.

Walson.
Q1. How is Sipso performing in regards to other drinks available in market?

Spiso is doing good, but comparing other drinks it lags behind a bit because other drinks or

company have their research department which researches about the customers’ demands and

what they are actually seeking for. We can do better if we have a research department.

Q2. Do you have any plans of broadening the range of products?

Yes, We’re looking forward in broadening the product in near future. Because the budget is

made by Division we can’t really come up with something by our own. The Spiso industry

was initiated with the support of Loma Linda University, now we have no contact with them

and so there’s no progress in the industry as what it supposed to be.

Q3. Did you ever get any complaints regarding the product? How do you deal with it?

Yes, we do receive complaints regarding the product. Customers usually complain about soya

milk being spoiled. The Shelf life of soya milk is a day so if they drink up before 24 hours it

fine and under refrigeration its 3 days. If there’s any fault in packaging or leakage, we give a

new packet of product to the customers at the moment.

Suggestion
The SCP&S industry is doing good by it can do much better. They can increase the outlet as

being informed there are only 3 outlets out of which 2 are in Spicer. Opening new outlets,

increase in the labor being put for the manufacture process would help in increase in

production. The packaging of soya milk could be done better, it could be done in tetra pack

which would help the shelf life to increase.
