INTRODUCTION

a sports complex is a group of sports facilities like track, field stadiums, football
stadiums, baseball stadiums, swimming pools and indoor arenas. For these games
definitely there is a need for a better sports ground and sports hall practicing and for
competition purpose.
SITE LOCATION

The site is located at payyanad,manjeri.

Area= 115 475.86 m2 = 28.5acre

ACCESIBILITY
Manjeri bus stand (6.8km)
Melattur railway station (19km)
Calicut airport (28km)
 This is Gov. Project having 2 phases of construction.

 1st phase - football stadium which is completed partially, but now dilapidated in
condition.

 2nd phase- sports complex which is not started yet.

 Federation Cup 2013-14 was held here. The capacity of the stadium was officially
said to be 25,000 but on 1st match day of the tournament, almost 50,000 people
reached the stadium.

 The main reasons for dilapidation of this project is

- Political issues.

- Funding issues.

- irresponsibility of government.
AIM

Renovation of current dilapidated football stadium and designing of a new sports

complex.

OBJECTIVES

 To develop a football stadium with all facilities functioning through out the year
with good maintenance.

 To design a multifunctional sports complex.

 To create an environment which form part of the daily sports activity of general
public.

 In cooperating nature with built form.

SCOPE

North Kerala is famous for sports activities especially Malappuram, Calicut, and
Kannur. A favorable environment to practice and conduct sports evens is essential for
the development of sports of north Kerala.

This project will be the Malappuram district main sports complex, and it will conduct
events like federation cup, I league…ect. Definitely this sports complex encourage
the sports in the Malabar side and it will create a sports environment.

LIMITATIONS

This is a economically viable project. To make It a success government should give

proper funding and support.

Proper maintenance should needed for the fully functioning of this project through
out the year.
FEASIBILITY

Sports is the prominent activity in the life of every Keralites mainly north Kerala. Malabar
areas of Kerala especially Malappuram, Calicut, Kannur do not have a well functioned
and technology advanced stadiums and complex.

The new sports complex and football stadium ensures all sports activities at this specific
place and also it may help our sports talents to improve their quality and get good
experience by participating in the national and international competitions to be held
in the complex.

The general people also benefit from watching the world class events.
