Abstract
One of the latest issue that the government still arguing is the legalization of medical
marijuana. Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri is open for this bill because according to the study that it
can cure epilepsy. Many drug advocates are not agree with this because they believe that this
bill will cause abuse and marijuana may use for recreational.
Introduction
I agree about the legalization of medical marijuana, because for me marijuana is a big help for
the patients diagnosed from certain illness like epilepsy. It helps them to make their brain
function very well. In other countries like Canada they use it as for medical purposes somehow
its purpose is for medical only but other people use it for recreational. In our country medical
marijuana is not yet been legalize because of the War on Drugs of Duterte Administration. They
say that it urge the person who use it and they don't know what are they doing. Some Filipinos
believe that medical marijuana is the reason of criminality in the society. That is why the
legalization of medical marijuana is not accept by the Filipinos.
Body
Uruguay and Canada are the only sovereign states that have fully legalized the
consumption and sale of recreational cannabis nationwide. In the United States, eleven states
and the District of Columbia have legalized the recreational use of cannabis although it remains
federally illegal. Laws vary from state to state when it comes to the commercial sale. Medical
marijuana is good to be legalized because it will help people with illness. Infact, some state of
the U.S. have plants of marijuana in their garden but it must be few.
Conclusion
Legalization of marijuana if will be approved by our country can help people suffering from
diseases. I hope that the perception of other Filipinos about medical marijuana must change
because their perceptions affects the overall decision of our government in legalization of it.
We must expand our understanding about it and we must to look for the good purpose of it not
the bad one.
