1) Using Mesh Analysis, determine the current through the 5 Ω resistor.

Answer: 3.38 A

2) Use Nodal Analysis to determine the current in the 10 Ω resistor.

(if values are not clear: from left corner, 50 V, 40 ohms, 50 ohms, 20 ohms, 10 V and 10 ohms –
for clarity)
Answer: 0.88 A
3) Find the current through the 10 Ω resistor connected between points A and B.

Answer: 1 A

4) Find the current through the 6 Ω resistor using Thevenin’s Theorem.

Answer: 2.04 A.

5) Find the current through the 20 ohm resistor using Mesh Analysis.

Answer: 0.61 A.
6. Determine the values of I1, I2 and I3.
Answer: I1= 4A, I2=10A, I3= -3A.
7. For the circuit shown below, determine the current through 10Ω resistor using Thevenin’s
Theorem.

Answer: 0.37A.
8. Find the voltage VAB.

Answer: -3.25V.
9. Find out the mesh currents for the circuit given below.

Answer: 3.75A, 0 A and 1.25 A respectively.


10. Suppose the laboratory has the following standard resistors in large quantities:
1.8Ω, 20Ω, 300Ω, 24kΩ and 56kΩ.
Using series parallel combination and a minimum number of available resistors, how would you
obtain the following resistances for an electric circuit design?
5Ω, 311.8Ω, 40kΩ.
